The Cheadle (Staffs) Auto Club will be running the Dave Colley Trial on Sunday 9 September. The trial is names in memory of the former clubs members Dave Colley who served the club in various capacities for several years. The trial will cater for all classes of machine and for all grades of rider from Novice and Beginners to Expert as well as Twinshock, British Bike over 40s and Youth A and B.

The trial will be at Hawks Nest near Flash, Staffordshire, set in the heart of the picturesque Staffordshire Moorlands. The course will be aimed at giving everyone a good days sport and all riders will have a choice of either the Championship sections or the easier Clubman’s ones. All sections will have dual routes, with all riders having the option to ride a 50/50 route if they wish to. The harder section will be for the better riders and the easier for those wanting a less demanding route at the popular Staffordshire venue which is situated near to Flash on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border and will be signed off the A53 Leek/Buxton road. Start time is 10.30 and entries will, as usual, close on the day but if you need any more details then contact Peter Beardmore on 01538 750057 .

The Cheadle Auto Club has abolished membership fees for 2012 so anyone wanting to ride in one of their trials can turn up on the day and simply pay the entry fee. You will still need to hold an ACU licence which can be obtained at the trial but apart from that there will be no fuss and no extra cost to you. The trial will be run on one of the ACU’s “Open” permits which means that riders do not have to join the club and pay any membership subs in addition to the usual entry fee. This will continue to be the clubs policy in 2012in order to try to keep costs to the riders to a minimum.
