SSDT Day One Coverage

ssdt in-articleAfter months of preparation, the 2014 Scottish Six Days Trial finally got underway at 7:30am this morning when, to the skirl of the bagpipes, rider number one, Iain Shankie was the first to depart from the Fort William parc ferme to begin six days of tough competition with thirty challenging sections per day and long, arduous moor crossings. With the Scottish famous for it's somewhat inclement weather, contrary to the forecasts, it stayed dry for most of the opening day of this year's SSDT and although the sun did it's best to break through this morning, rain showers in the afternoon prevailed, though none were particularly heavy.

As is traditional for us, it's an early start to see the (nervous!) riders through the very first group of the Trial at Leanachen at the base of the Aonach Mohr ski resort and then down to the most popular spectator group of the day at Lagnaha.

Day one results are attached at the bottom of this article.
