SSMCC - Long Mynd - 9th/10th Aug

Well with little over 3 weeks to go until The Longmynd Trophy Trial I've had a few phone calls about one or two things so to clear them up please read the following information so our weekend runs smoothly.

The Trial will start from Brow Farm Campsite postcode for sat nav is SY5 0SR. It will be arrowed off the main road but most of you know where it is anyway.

Signing on is from 8am onwards. All riders will start at half minute intervals with the first rider being away at 9.3...0 sharp. You will do 36 sections each day with the start order being in reverse on day 2. The trial will be marked stop allowed, please remember the observers decision is final they have given up their weekend for you.

Sections will be marked by two colours only, red arrows & yellow arrows. All riders on the Clubman route including Twinshocks & Pre-65 will ride between yellow markers all day. Experts will ride between red markers all day, those of you that are riding 50/50 will ride between the red markers at every section unless you see at the start of the section written on a green sign inters or 50/50 ride Clubman then you follow the yellow markers.

Each day you will do approx 35 miles & the route markings are as follows. All off road including green lanes & hill crossings will be marked with large florescent arrows. All road markings & road junctions will be marked with small direction arrows, red arrows turn right, blue turn left & white straight on. Please take note of all speed limits which will be 15 MPH MAX on RED SIGNS, these are very sensitive areas such as stables & close to houses so anybody caught speeding will be disqualified.

Punch cards will be changed at the 3rd group on each day & hopefully the results will be done not long after the trial has finished.

Please note only riders & officials can follow the route as most of the trial is on private land, a separate route plan will be available at the start for fuel vans & spectators. The Club has nothing do to with your fuelling its up to you to arrange your own. Please only fuel were we have permitted fuel vehicles to go as The National Trust have warned us about fuelling on top of the Longmynd and the fire risk.

Camping will be available at the start for a small fee payable to the landowner were there are showers & toilets. Julia will be at the campsite all weekend with her catering van for breakfast & hot drinks on the mornings. Saturday night she will be doing hot meat, baked spuds & a salad bar for those off you that want it. Bring your own booze & have a good night!!

Those who require RTA, please contact Jim Teague 07917475837 prior to the event as it will NOT be available on the day due to observer duties etc.
