2012 FIM Trial World Championship Round 1

No.1 JST GGUK rider Michael Brown had a good start to the outdoor World Trials Championship in France at the weekend.

He was 9th on Saturday but his riding deserved better because he was riding good. He started the trial very well and was actually in 3rd to section 8. The results from 6th to 9th were close and a few bad fives and no luck spoilt his day.

Nothing needed changing on the bike or the rider overnight as both Michael and his bike were performing well.

Sunday was better…7th! He rode equally as well as Saturday but made fewer mistakes which are very costly as this level.

He is now joint 7th in the Championship with Jack Challoner.

JSTGG rider Alexz Wigg returned to the WTC after not competing at World level since Italy last year. He finished 13th on Day 1 and 12th on Day 2. He looked good in places and had at least three fives for 'touching’ markers. The rule at WTC is that even if either the bike or rider touches a flag then this is a five which is a harsh rule albeit same for everyone. Alexz is now looking forward to the SSDT next week.

In the Youth Class JSTGG riders Tom Dexter was in the points in 14th place on Saturday and even better 11th on Sunday. The Bullock brothers Dec and Bradley Bullock were also riding. Brad was 16th and 14th and Dec was 18th and 17th.
