2013 Trial World Championship Round 2, Day 2

montesa-hrc-logoToni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) has repeated on the second day of the United States Trial Grand Prix his second place of the previous day. On this occasion, on a rather more difficult circuit, he scored the same points as the winner, which meant victory had to be decided by the number of zeroes in the zones. The Montesa rider had scored 27, one less than his adversary. Although Toni Bou has lost the leading position in the World Championship by the minimum margin, he continues to be the only rider who has climbed onto the podium of the four events held to date.

Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) improved his position over the first day, completing the podium and remaining third in the overall standings. A new win for Montesa in the constructors' championship, a result that extends its advantage over its rivals.

Toni Bou: “It was a struggle with a lot of pressure. Adam was very strong again and we reached the last lap level and very tired. On the last lap he gave me a couple of presents by making mistakes where he shouldn't. But then, because I was so tired, the same thing happened to me, and we were level right up to the finish. I hope the next races will be tougher and more complicated than this one. The latest results have motivated me to work harder than ever in accordance with the new regulations, and knowing that this championship will be harder and more equal”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “Obviously I improved over yesterday, in spite of a few mistakes and some problems that prevent me from feeling satisfied. But I've got no reason to be unhappy. It's a sensation that's a bit difficult to explain”.
