World Championship Round 5 Video

TrialGP France took the series to new heights with the French ski resort of Auron hosting round five of the 2018 campaign. The alpine setting one thousand six hundred metres above the sea level in Nice one hour south of the Trial venue was one of the most scenic the championship has visited in its almost fifty-year history. The fifteen rocky hazards were spread along the lower edges of the ski slopes with the early hazards being situated in a dry riverbed before the action then moved into the shade of the trees, where the ground was equally as dry and dusty. Views down the valley provided the ideal backdrop to another tense encounter that saw no less than five classes compete.

TrialGP series leader Toni Bou - Repsol Honda fought a day long battle with Jeroni Fajardo - Gas Gas before finally coming out on top. It was an easier route to victory for Emma Bristow - Sherco in the TrialGP Women category as she created a clear winning margin over Neus Murcia - Beta. Across in Trial2 it was the normal multi-way battle for top honours with Toby Martyn - Montesa sealing an important win in the title race.

Italy's Alex Brancati - Beta continued her dominance of the Women's Trial2 class to take another step to wrapping up the overall championship fight, whilst Kenichi Kuroyma - Yamaha made the long trip from Japan very worthwhile as he drew first blood in the TrialE division
