2012 Women's European Championship Round 3

The final round of the 2012 Women's European Championship was staged last weekend near Zelhem in Holland at a man-made trials park consisting of concrete pipes and steps, logs, wooden sleepers and huge rocks imported from around Europe.

Top Trial Team/Beta UK rider, Becky Cook was leading the championship heading into this final round by five points from nearest rival Emma Bristow.

Becky started off strong and confidently parting with just six single marks on the first lap which put her in the lead with Emma lying in second on thirteen marks and the German, Theresa Bauml some way back on thirty.

On the second lap the sections became a lot harder as the soft, sandy ground between the rocks became very deep and loose and also the rocks became very slippery with all the dust being dragged onto them.

However, her second lap score of twenty three was still enough to take the win and become the 2012 European Champion. Her final score of twenty nine was two in front of Emma, with Sandrine Juffet taking the final podium position on fifty six.

A delighted Becky said "I am really happy to be the 2012 European Champion, it has always been one of my ambitions and finally i have achieved it, and to do it with a win makes it even better! Massive thanks to Craig and Top Trial Team for there support and supplying me with a bike that performs so well. I am pleased i have repaid there faith in me by giving them there eleventh international title."
