The final round of the British Ladies Championship was held at Park Wood Off road Centre, Tong by Horsforth & DMC and TrialsUK.
With the championship still to be decided between Top Trial Team Beta UK rider, Becky Cook and Ossa rider, Emma Bristow it would be a tense battle for the title as winner takes all. Current champion, Cook was feeling confident following a successful few weeks in which she had been crowned European Champion.
With the sections on the easy side, it was to be close between the championship rivals. Becky started well cleaning sections one and two, three would see her clean until the final turn when a large rock came dislodged underneath her front wheel, rolled and threw Becky off the bike. Staying positive, Becky continued to ride well, loosing just two single dabs on sections four and six.
Her second lap would see her loose two more single dabs on four and seven. Going into the final lap Becky was trailing Emma by four marks. Once again, bad luck struck as her foot caught on some loose section tape which was hanging low in the stream resulting in another five. Becky cleaned the rest of the lap though to complete the trial on fourteen marks.
Emma lost nine that lap to put them equal on fourteen at the finish providing a nail biting finale to the championship. To the relief and delight of Becky and the team, it was her that took the win on most cleans and with it her eighth British title.
"Its been a brilliant fight for the championship this year, it's a great feeling to win my eighth title and my first for Beta. Thanks to my minder, Craig, John Lampkin and Beta UK and everyone at Top Trial Team. It's been a fantastic few weeks taking the European title and now the British. I'm riding well and am confident I can challenge for the World championship title over the next two weeks."
