Red Rose Classic Championship Round 4

andrew scott rr 4Andrew ScottFour rounds and four different winners has left the Red Rose Classic MC Championship title race wide open. Andrew Scott, riding his Cub, topped the table at last weekend's event, held at Lee Quarry, Bacup in fine, dry conditions. Scott dropped just one mark after four laps of ten sections, which were laid out by clerks-of-the-course Ian Wallbank, Peter McCawley and Barry Doran. Mick Clarke (Ariel) and Tony Dillon (Bantam) tied for the runners-up spot with three marks lost.

Former world champion and Red Rose club member Yrjo Vesterinen was in action with his new Cub, getting in some practice ahead of his Scottish pre-65 next month. He finished sixth in class C after dropping ten marks. There were class wins for Clarke, Scott, Connor Karran (Bantam), Odgie (OK Supreme), Stu Melling (Bultaco) and Chris Starkie (Bultaco).

The club would like to thank the clerks-of-the-course and all the observers. The next Red Rose trial is at Catlow Ford, near Nelson, on May 11. Nearest postcode is BB10 3RN.
