Richard Sadler Youth Academy

richmond sadler schoolRichard Sadler's youth academy has again provided another successful training event, in which five young C and D class riders spent an evening training in famous Reeth 3 Day territory.  The riders spent time with Richard discussing theory and technique, as well as plenty of time on their bikes tackling some pretty tough sections.

Richard was again supported by James Stones with the parents of the young riders all commenting on how professional the training provided by Richard and James has been and how impressed they were by the efforts made by the duo to support their local club and fellow young riders.

All of the youths thoroughly enjoyed the event, despite all of them taking a splash in the beck at one point or another! The young riders were a credit to the sport, and remained smiling and enthused the whole evening. The academy has obviously inspired all of these riders, as they have recently each entered the C&D national hosted by Bumpy, with Callum Fowler finishing in 3rd place and achieving his first national podium. The five academy riders will continue to represent Richmond Motor Club in the remaining C&D nationals.

On a more local level, each of the individual youths has shown considerable progression in their results at club events. The training academy has gone from strength to strength, with Richard and James working with youths from as young as 6, right up to the eldest A class riders who are approaching 16. The exciting thing about the youth academy is that it continues to inspire Richmond riders, who have not yet been chosen for training, to step up a level, and ride at national events.

Richard and James will now take a break from the academy, as they concentrate on the remaining British Championships, and the fast approaching centenary Scott Trial!

Richmond Motor Club would like to echo the opinions of parents and riders by saying thank you to Richard, and James, for their continued voluntary support in training the future of British trials, and wish them the best of luck over the important next few months in the trialling calendar.
