British Sidecar Championship Round 7

luscombe saabNidderdale was a cool place to be on Sunday but the atmosphere at the Yeadon & Guiseley hosted seventh round of the Luscombe Saab Leeds ACU  British Sidecar Trials Championship was almost glowing.

Never has there been a triple tie at the top of the championship series but Bristol’s Jon Tuck, Kent’s Rupert Kimber and Mancunian Kiaran Hankin and their respective passengers Matt Sparks, Chris Kimber and Andy Cripps produced identical scores on the Mel Harrison Trophy trials course high above Pateley Bridge. The trio handed in punch cards all identical with scores of twenty one penalties. Tuck rode the farthest so claimed the victory while Kimber and Hankin ran out second and third on most cleans.

David Tuck and  Steve Chandler won the Inter class ahead of Kent’s Robbie Head so those two contenders are a mere two points apart. Skipton brothers Chris and Robert Pickard won the clubman class and now lead challengers Simon Evans and Nick Harding by six points. All the scores could change next Sunday at the Talmag Trial.
