Bassenthwaite & DMC Charity trials update

bassenthwaiteChristmas came early for 3 local charities this week, when Bassenthwaite and District Motor Club presented them each with a cheque. A total of £1000 was shared between Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Blood Bikes Cumbria and The Friends of Mary Hewetson Hospital, Keswick.

The money was raised by the Club running motorcycle trials earlier in the summer, that were sponsored by The Filling Station Cafe in Keswick. The Filling Station Cafe, charity trial series organised by Bassenthwaite and District Motor Club, has been running since 2011. They are intended to encourage novice and beginner riders of all ages into the sport of motorcycle trials as well as to raise money for charity. To date, over £3000 has been raised and presented to local charities.

Anyone wanting to know more about motorcycle trials or fancies having a go, can contact David Sharp 01900 828207 or Stuart Gaskell 01900 821096 for more information.
