Wetherby's David Weatherill

Sad new today is the passing of David Weatherill on Saturday evening following an accident on Boxing Day. David slipped and fell downstairs at his home on Boxing Day. He suffered from bleeding from the brain and underwent an operation to relief pressure on the brain. In the last few days he contracted pneumonia on two occasions, recovering once but being struck down a second time. He was seventy eight years of age and chairman of the Wetherby Motor Club for over thirty years.

Secretary of the Club Magaret Myers said that David Weatherill was a guiding official in the heady days of the Wetherby Superstars Trials, the world trials at Bayliss Gap, Ken’s Canyon and rain swept Marsett. He was always on hand keeping eye on all aspects of trials organisation at the top level.
