Peterborough Championship Draws To a Close

The Sixth and final  trial of the Peterborough trials club championship took place today where 39 riders tackled 5 laps of 8 sections at Stibbington Quarry. The day started off foggy and cold but brightened up to be a sunny warm day.

The winner of the trial was Tom Ablewhite who dropped 6 marks to finish ahead of fellow expert rider Adam Brown who dropped 8 marks. Kieran McDaid was best Youth A and Tom Spencer was best Youth B. The winner of the intermediate class was James Spencer.

Mick Thurman was the best 50/50 route rider today and he dropped 21 marks on his Montesa.

On the middle route twin shock Fantic rider Oliver Wareing came out top dropping 2 marks with Pete Ablewhite next up taking the over 40 class win on 6 marks. Shane Harvey was the best Clubman on 17 marks dropped and Toby Mears came out top in the novice class on 55 marks dropped.

On the white route 4 riders tied on 0 marks dropped and they were Tony Bilton, Dave Spurgeon, Andrew Atkin and Michael Smalley. There was a close battle for the Youth white route win with Alfie Ray Turner dropping 12 marks and Sam Arden dropping 13 marks.

On the conducted route we had two Oset riders on a tight and testing conducted course, with a series of muddy sections and hills. Both boys enjoyed a great days riding in sunny conditions with Jake Fraser dropping 5 marks and Anthony Piper Martin dropping 6 marks.

Thanks to everyone who turned out today and a special thank you to those who helped set out the course Saturday and those that observed on the day. We hope to see you all again on the 2nd November at Stibbington for our presentation trial.
