UK World Trial Heads To Yorkshire

2016 uk world trial 1st storyHaving spent several successful years at the Nord Vue venue near Penrith, the UK round of the 2015 FIM Trial World Championship is set for a brand new venue as it moves to Yorkshire and Parkwood Off-Road Centre, situated between Leeds and Bradford. Yorkshire is considered as many as the home of Trials with a strong Trials tradition, but it is many years since an outdoor world championship Trial was held on Yorkshire soil.

Event director John Kerwin said "The Trial needed a new, fresh venue and this location fits the bill, ticking all the boxes. Section designer, Graham Jarvis has made several visits to the venue and has designed 12 fantastic sections. Work starts next week on the construction of these, which will comprise a mixture of natural streams, gullies and banks enhanced with additional rocks. As we did with Penrith it’s all about the vision and turning it into reality"

The Yorkshire World Trial at Parkwood on 16th and 17th July will also see the first visit of the FIM Women’s Trial World Championship to the UK with it running alongside the men’s event. Our UK ladies are currently  the best in the world, headed by world champion, Emma Bristow
