Red Rose Classic Season Finally Set To Get Underway

red rose classicRed Rose Classic MCC finally get their championship season underway next Sunday (February 14). Three months of rain and snow in Lancashire has played havoc with fixtures for all trials clubs in the county, and Red Rose has been no exception. Heavy overnight forced the last-minute cancellation of their 2016 opener at Copy Pit, Cliviger - and that fixture had already been switched from Pendle Hall Farm, Padiham due to waterlogged ground. However, Sunday's meeting at Warmden Quarry, just off the A56 between Accrington and Baxenden will go ahead as the popular venue isn't as susceptible to the weather.

Clerks-of-the-course Tony Dillon and Carl Winstanley will be plotting a ten-section course with riders tackling four laps with a variety of hazards included.

Red Rose Classic was founded in 1992 to run and promote pre-65 trials in the county, it also caters for air-cooled, drum braked twinshocks. Entries for the meeting from Pete Kenyon, tel 01282 613063.
