James Dabill Wins British Championship Round 3

Just one week after the Scottish Six Days Trial it was back to the business of the RT Keedwell ACU British Trials Championships last Sunday.

The RT Keedwell sponsored Series headed down to South Wales for the Neath Motor Club organised St David's at Aberdulais.

It was very much a case of ‘as you were’ in all three rider classes. James Dabill in the Championship, Dan Thorpe in the Experts and Jack Peace in the Youth A all recorded wins. Not only that but they all now have 100% records from the first three 2016 rounds.

In the Championship Dabill ended up with a 12 mark win over Michael Brown with Jack Price in third. Jack has been consistently improving over the last 12 months although he frequently seems to pass a little under the radar. Jack was only three marks off Michael Brown which is a superb result.

In the Expert group Dan Thorpe also just goes on winning. The St David's going is perfect for Dan's style finding grip on the slippery stuff which can be found in the venues wooded areas. His main rival to date has been Tom Minta but he had to settle for third in Wales as Joel Edwards came through strongly to take second. Joel had the best run on the last three hazards which in the end proved important.

Jack Peace enjoyed the clearest win of the day in the Youth A group and showed what a 125 can do. So incidentally did Toby Martyn in the Championship class where he took a superb eighth place. Peaces rivals could get nowhere close but Josh Hanlon was closest on the day with Keiran Child third.
