Gas Gas At British Championship Round 3

gas gas logoAfter a great week in the Highlands the Team were quite upbeat before Sunday’s event in glorious sunshine. The excellent Lletty Rafel Farm venue had 12 sections to be ridden 3 times. JST GGUK rider Michael Brown seems to have upped his game and confidence after a superb week in Scotland was riding well and like his former self. For me this was great to see as his Team boss but more so as a friend. To see Michael smiling and ‘blipping’ through the sections was great. He finished second behind the on form Dabill.

Road and Trials GG rider Jack Price looked the sharpest rider for me yesterday, maybe not riding the SSDT has helped. People don’t realise how much the six days tales out of a rider mentally and physically. Jack had another BTC podium finishing just behind Michael in 3rd. Jack is riding well and very maturely for his age. Nothing seems to phase him and he was riding with Dibs and Michael all day.

JST GGUK rider Sam Haslam cruised round for a steady 7th place to now sit 7th in the Championship. Sam will improve as the season goes on im sure…

JST GGUK rider Dan Peace had another top 10 ride finishing 9th and holds 6th in the Championship.

JST GGUK rider Alexz Wigg had a nightmare in 13th. Alexz did not look himself all day and looked tired. He had a great week in Scotland and helped GG win the manufacturers award. A busy week at work last week and day racing flat track on Saturday has possibly exhausted him.

In the Expert Class it was JST GGUK rider Dan Thorpe again. Dan is the most reliable Team rider we have and is always there. Very impressive and he looked as fresh as a daisy!

Congrats in the Expert Class also to GG rider Chris Alford who was 8th which was a good ride. Chris is soon to have a shiny new bike which will see him on the podium no problem, no pressure.

In the Youth Class a young lad getting quite good and very likable was young JST GGUK rider Jack Peace. Still hunting for his fathers £20 win bonus for beating Dan Thorpe which will soon come im sure. Well done mate.

So not a bad day for GG…. 2nd and 3rd in the main class and winning the Expert and Youth Classes. GAS GAS is ‘still riding’ !!

Thanks to Factory Kev for prepping Michaels bike which looked NEW after the SSDT.

PS; I must finish by saying how proud I was for Michael, Sam and Alexz for winning the prestigious Manufacturers Team Award at the SSDT. Also it has to said that both Alexz and Sam rode their same bikes at the SSDT last year which is testament to the quality and reliability of GG. Sure they were well prepared but considering these bikes are on there second year is quite impressive. Both these bikes are soon to be replaced by welcome and deserved 2017 models.
