Peterborough Trials Club

The third trial of the Peterborough trials club season took place today where a great entry of 65 riders were treated to a warm sunny day at a new venue for our club Tixover quarry. We set out 10 sections with a mix of sandy climbs rocks and some grass hills that seem to have taken the right marks from all riders.

The winner of the trial was Sherco mounted expert rider Tom Ablewhite who managed to keep his feet up all day to finish on clean from fellow expert Steve Swanson who dropped 7 marks with Joe Collins next up on 10 marks dropped. The best intermediate rider was Kieran McDaid who dropped 22 marks, the winner of the youth B was Adam Juffs and Tom Spencer was the best youth A rider.

The 50/50 route was won by Martyn Rushbrook on 15 marks just ahead of pinky Yam mounted Mick Thurman on 19 marks and Bo Kyrrnyckyj on 28 marks dropped.

On the middle route Bruce Alderman dusted down his trusty Fantic and dropped just 2 marks to win the Twinshock class. The best rider in the competitive over 40 class was Pete Ablewhite on 10 marks dropped ahead Steve Marwood on 15 marks and Tim Gent on 22 marks dropped. The best clubman on the day was Carl Beeton on 30 marks dropped with Vincent Pegg winning the novice class on 36 marks dropped. There was a tight contest in the youth C class with Alfie Ray Turner narrowly beating Alfred Alderman with the two riders dropping 95 and 98 marks respectively.

On the White route Edward Jones kept clean all day to beat Stephanie Tombling who dropped 7 marks and Mick Howard who finshed third on 13 marks dropped. The best youth rider on the white route was Ryan Smith Jr.

An Excellent day was had for all three conducted riders on OSETS, a superb course of sections with a few sandy cambers proving challenging.

Big thanks to everyone who turned out today especially those that observed we hope to see you all on the 5th  June for our next trial at Stibbington.
