Middle England CVC Trial 18.12.16

The first round of the Conducted Class Series was held by the Middle England C.V.C at Deanacres Park, Edmondsley on Sunday 18 th December. Unfortunately, mainly due to the time of the year, there were numerous regular competitors that for various family reasons were unable to make it this weekend, in particular for the Easy course, which is a pity as the venue and weather was perfect for the young riders.

It therefore left Aaron, 6 yr old, on an Oset 16R, by himself to ride the easy course and take the win.  He somehow rode better knowing that the win was his no matter what he did, perhaps it was the lack of pressure!

The harder course, which was set to be as difficult as an Adult Beginners Trial, showed strengths and weaknesses for all the riders in particular the styles of the first three. Josh, Oset 20R, was the clear winner on 51, and it was his boldness on the big banks that gave him the edge. Brandon, Beta 80, was on only his fifth trial and did well with 74, he also attacked the banks but lacked the finesse of the others downhill. Ella, Oset 20R, is a dream to watch on the tight stuff and out rode all on those parts, but she needed  more muscle in the right wrist today to match the boys up the banks, as that's where she lost all her points.

All the competitors received rosettes and Ella's Mum, Louise, kindly added a surprise Christmas present for all,  much appreciated.

The second round, in the Middle England Club Conducted series of 5, is not until April, but I heard today that the Centre hope to put on a separate series for the Conducted class of approximately 6 events throughout next year, so things are looking up for the Young un's in the North East Centre.
