Gas Gas UK Weekend Review

gas gas logoNo.1 GASGAS Factory rider James Dabill was back in action after his ‘Barcelona blip’. Dibs bounced straight back to the podium finishing runner up to Toni Bou at the Bordeaux Indoor Trial Friday night.

JSTGGUK/InchPerfect rider Jack Peace finished runner up ‘again’ at the popular Chequers Trial organised by the Northallerton and District MCC. Jack was beaten again by one frustrating mark by Richard Sadler. Jack beat respected riders Ian Austermule in 3rd and Jonathan Richardson in 4th.

JSTGGUK riders Sam Haslam and Dan Thorpe rode an excellent Colmore S3 National finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively overall. Ross Danby won beating Sam by only one mark. Both Ross and Sam rode excellent and would have taken a lot of beating by anyone.

The event was really good and it’s good to see the top experts losing marks. It’s good to see a tough National and marks being lost without anything dangerous. I rode the event and struggled in places but rode every section and nothing was silly. I lost loads and finished 8th in the S3 class but drove back happy! One thing that I do not understand is why there is no over40 class in this great Championship that we support. I now ride only for fun and am not fussed about my result but there should be an over 40 class, end of story.

JST/Cloburn rider Chris Alford suffered a bit with an early number finishing 9th in the S3 Class

Full marks go to the Stratford upon Avon MCC for a very well organised event.
