Top Two For Gas Gas UK At S3 Parts Series Round 5

michael brown s3 parts chris carterImage: John DickinsonJST GGUK Team ‘mates’ Michael Brown and Jack Price were first and second respectively on Sunday at The Chris Carter / Round 5 of the S3 Parts ACU National Championship. These two rode round with each other and it was good for me to see them both enjoying themselves having some banter between them and both riding excellent.

The event was superbly organised by the Yeadon and Guisley Club with an enjoyable two lap, twenty section course. The sections were spot on, challenging enough for the top lads and nothing dangerous for the majority. The sections did suit the ‘modern’ rider who needed perfect trick riding in most sections (not me ha!) to try and keep moving.

Next best GG was JSTGGUK rider Tom Minta who was out on his 125cc for SSDT practice. Tom had an excellent ride losing only 21 marks in 11th place overall. Slightly off the pace this weekend was JSTGGUK rider Dan Thorpe who was 12th in a change from awesome form we've seen from him this year. As I said the sections did suit the young guns a bit more. Don’t get me wrong, Dan is more than capable, he just had a slight off day. Cloburn/GGUK rider Chris Alford had a great day in 14th overall (7th in S3 Class)

Congratulations to Factory No1 rider James Dabill and Jack Price for their superb runner up place at Friday nights X-Trial TDN event. Dibs also had a Spanish Championship Round on Sunday and he finished 8th. Not the position he wants but he is getting used to the slight different format for STC and was happy the way he rode. It’s not as easy as people think competing in a ‘foreign’ domestic championship’ and the Spanish Championship has a world class entry. Not making excuses for Dibs here because I know he wants to/can do/will do better.
