Red Rose Classic MCC Club Championship Round 8

red rose classicYrjo Vesterinen was in fine form at Red Rose Classic MCC’s club championship round at Noyna Farm, near Colne. The former world champion finished top of the class after dropping just 15 marks after four laps of ten sections to claim the honours on his Bantam. Such was his superiority in class C, runner-up Andrew Scott (Cub) ended the day with 44 marks, and third-placed Pete Clibburn, also on a Cub, on 47.

It was much closer in class T, where Stephen Jarman (Honda) edged out the Fantic of Andrew King  17-20. Chris Gascoigne collected third place on his Honda with 25 marks.

Chris Nutter had a clear run to class Ae on his Ariel, as did Eric Atkinson and his James in class D.

Steve Thomas had an excellent run on his Bantam in class Ce, taking a worthy win after dropping just two marks, 13 clear of runner-up Ian Livingstone (DOT). Jon Cushing (Bantam) completed the top three with a score of 19.

A score of 14 was enough for John Wilson and his Yamaha to take class Te, with  Malcolm Bell and Mel Dibb finishing second and third respectively.

Red Rose Classic MCC would like to thank the landowner, the observers and the clerks of the course, Mel Dibb and Chris Forshaw. Their next trial is on Sunday, September 17, not Saturday September 23 as previously advertised, at Higher Sheepwash Farm, Slaidburn, nearest postcode is BD24 0JU.
