red rose classicStephen Jarman enjoyed a double success at round nine of Red Rose Classic MCC’s club championship for the Honda rider not only won the twinshock class, but also emerged the top score of just 12 marks after four laps of ten sections at Higher Sheepwash Farm, Rathmell, North Yorkshire. The Colne-based club had a lower-than-usual entry of 21 riders for their trial, with the majority of competitors contesting the twinshock clubman class.

Tim Baker had a clear run to victory in class Ae, notching up 54 marks on his Ariel after Chris Nutter retired.

There were just two contenders in class C, with Alan Mills (Bantam) edging out Andrew Scott (Cub) with a six-mark advantage.

It was the same in class Ce, with Bob Baker and his James getting a relatively easy win over Richard Jarman (Dalesman) with the scores 17-39.

With 11 riders entered for class Te, Chris Forshaw’s score of 22 marks was enough to claim a well-deserved win, nine ahead of runner-up Mark Wilson (Honda), with John Wilson taking third on his Yamaha. The club would like to thank the landowners, the observers, and clerks-of-the-course Malcolm Bell.
