montesa-hrc-logoToni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) concluded the 38th edition of the Trail World Championship winning the second day of the British Grand Prix , his 50th victory in world championship events, 11 this season and 48 riding Montesa bikes, the brand he has been riding with since 2007. This triumphal run of twelve World Championships (Six outdoor titles and another six, also consecutive, indoor, gives Montesa 161 victories in the outdoor world championship, and its fifteenth title as manufacturer this year, the last seven consecutive and for the 4-stroke Cota 4RT. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT) was unable to finish the event with what could have been his sixth podium position this season and finished fifth in the final championship classification.

Francesc Moret (Montesa), fifth on this last event of the Junior category, achieved the sub championship in the category, with one victory and five second positions this season.

Toni Bou: “Fifty victories are a lot. I’m delighted to have achieved it and my desire at this moment is to continue enjoying this sport as much as up to now, feeling comfortable riding this magnificent Cota  4RT and hoping not to be inconvenienced with lesions. I couldn’t ask for more. This weekend has been perfect, I competed without pressure and I felt rather better today than yesterday. Six points in each lap is a good reference”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “It’s evident that I’d have preferred a different result, even more after having finished second yesterday. There was a mathematical possibility of ending the championship in the top positions and after many years I was out. Finishing fifth is not good, but looking at some of the partial results, it’s not as negative as it may seem. I hope I’ll do better next year”.
