Repsol Montesa At Day One of UK World Trial

montesa-hrc-logoToni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami (Both riding Montesa Cota 4RT bikes) achieved a double victory for Montesa on the first day of the British Trial Grand Prix, held this Saturday. With his victory, the fifth this season, the plurichampion has increased his lead in the general classification to seven points and his teammate recovered the third position. With Bou and Fujinami's double victory, Montesa has taken an important step to revalidate its manufacturer's title.

Toni Bou practically left this first day of the British event decided in the first two brilliant laps, after which he already had 16 points more than Takahisa Fujinami. The Japanese
rider took over from his teammate, dominating the third and last lap without any opposition and equalling Bou with the lowest score of the day.

Toni Bou: “It's been very important to win again, the fourth victory in the last five events and my teammate finishing second, taking away two points from my closest rival in the struggle for the title. We're well positioned and tomorrow will be an important day again, as the forecast of rain could increase the difficulty of the zones, leaving them in conditions that I like better and enjoy more”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “I did my own race, as my starting position didn't allow me to have references of my main rivals. I made a few mistakes in the first lap but continued very concentrated. In the second lap, with the possibility of rain, I was riding even more at my own pace. And the third lap was brilliant. I had lots of confidence in the bike. The team has worked on it a lot since the previous event and this result is the best way to thank them”.
