British Series Heads For Addingham

brownMichael BrownAfter a six week break the R T Keedwell Group sponsored British Trials Championship returns on Sunday 3rd August with the Yeadon Guisley organised round at Addingham Moorside. There are well over 70 entrants across the classes so there is plenty of action on offer. Many of the Championship contenders have been busy with World Championship  duties so expect the level of competition to be high. It is going to be a busy August as we head into the North Berks Supertrial  one week later before two more Championship events later in the month.

At the top of the standings it will come as no surprise to see James Dabill and Michael Brown. Both are level on points with Michael taking the win at The Lakes and James coming out on top at Low Row. It could be another close series this year and these two seem to be setting the pace once again with no real challenges so far. Having said that it is good to see jack Sheppard coming through this year. He currently stands on 26 points along with Alexz Wigg with current British number three Ross Danby. Watch out for three new riders on the adult scene with Billy Bolt, Iwan Roberts and Jack Price. All three have scored points in the series so far and it will be interesting to see if they can challenge the established order as the year progresses.

The Expert class has so far been dominated by one rider, Guy Kendrew. Guy is having a superb year with two wins in this series backed up by a fourth in the Scottish Six Days and he also currently jointly leads the S3 Championship. (with Chris Pearson , both have 87 points with 3 rounds remaining) James Stones lies in second position behind Kendrew with Joel Edwards lying third, Matt Maynard is next with Ben Sprigg in 5th place.

DSC Kendrew GuyBeta 049 01Guy KendrewAddingham Moorside lies just outside of Silsden and is the place to head for on the 3rd. For spectators it is superb with the sections being very accessible and close together. It also has the advantage of viewing from the top or bottom of the hazards which is not always available. The usual spectator car park is in operation so don't worry if it looks as if you are going past the trials area there is a very easy path back to the top of the subs. The view of the surrounding countryside from the top is well worth the visit alone so with the country's top Trials riders in action as well the event has got to be worth a visit.

There is a nominal car parking charge of £5.00 with the action starting at 9.30 am when the Expert class will be away. There will be 12 subs and 3 laps with a three hour time limit for the opening lap and 5 hours 30 minutes overall. Sat Nav postcode BD20 0NL should get you there.
