SUMMARY:Lancs County MCC, Hellsfells Charity Trial Rockin' On The Rocks!
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:\n\nThe club needs observers for this trial if you can help. We have a good
nucleus of folks who always help out with the boards, but a few more on SA
TURDAY would be good as we clash with Cumberland County's twinshock trial t
he same day. It will also give a good impression to the rock concert specta
tors.\n\n\n \n\n\nAnd from one new venue three weeks ago to another ne
w venue, where on SATURDAY September 8 we will be running a trial in conjun
ction with Hellsfells, a charity rock concert/social gathering/mountain bik
e festival at Marthwaite Foot, Middleton near Sedbergh, LA10 5ES, in aid of
The Community Self Build Agency and the linked Veterans Self Build Agency.
\n\n\n \n\n\nThe club has been invited by farmer and charity campaigne
r Brian Capstick to put on a afternoon event on his land and following a re
cce by two of Lancs County's committee, they have found a short but really
sensible set of sections alongside the River Rawthey.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe
land is on the other side of the river from the land used by Westmorland fo
r their Nostalgia Trial, and permission for both these trials has been gene
rously given by both the Northern Centre board and also the Westmorland Clu
b. Parking is good, and should riders want to camp there overnight for the
festival and for the following day's family activities, then they will be m
ade welcome.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe Hellsfells festival, https://www.hellsfel
ls.co.uk/trial bike competition which is over the full weekend of September
7/8/9 has full details of the event where up to 1000 families will gather
for music, food, biking and entertainment. Lancs County will be part of the
weekend with the trial starting at 2pm on the Saturday afternoon for four
laps of ten sections over a normal Clubman Hard and Clubman Easy course. Th
e trial will form part of the Sunday series, even though it will be on a Sa
turday afternoon. Take a look at the website where a video of the 1988 Kick
start is featured, used, so that the uninitiated get some idea of the sport
as so many of them still see it.\n\n\n \n\n\nAnd here's the latest in
formation from the festival organisers, there will be a number of food stal
ls on the field, which the charity is making further margin on as I am supp
lying the meat at cost. There will also be a lot going on for the kids with
a bouncy castle, ice cream, treasure hunt, etc if the riders want to bring
family along. Also on Saturday afternoon there will be a mountain bike rel
ay changing over on the field and a raft race up on Killington Lake if any
of the families want to get involved.\n\n\n \n\n\nThe live music is st
arting mid-afternoon, running through to 10pm with the following line up:\n
\n\n \n\n\nKev Kendal - The Acoustic Mod. You won’t be able to hold ba
ck as you find yourself singing along with Kev as he plays you some of the

ore than welcome to enter a team or 2.\n\n\nThe bar is being sponsored by R
obinsons Brewery "Light Brigade Beers" in association with Help for Heroes
