Just as a final update, I contacted West Country Windings, they agreed to a refund if I returned the stator. I returned the old stator they repaired and today I recieved a refund today out of the

Yes, Well wound me up actually. Yes it was the stator all the time, the triggers. New stator fitted by BVM - Fixed What I went for first of all, and paid to get repaired, and made no difference, and then searched for the fault........................................................................ but I just couldn't find it! A video of a rev3 working ? No, there's loads of those on Youtube, but there is one of my GX160 Honda working.

The suspense.......................... IT's fixed Just found out this afternoon. I'm not exactly sure what, as I will get the full story from BVM tomorrow. I belive it was the stator, once I know for sure I'll post the full outcome. Anyway off for my training day tomorrow, wish it had been working for the last 3 weeks and I could have practiced a bit. Wonder if it will snow?

So in summary have: Removed carb twice and cleaned out, (the only part i was unsure of was the long brass tube is blocked, top right in picture, but this dosn't seem to go anywhere anyway, should this be clear?? have been trying to post pic, couldn't work out how to so link is here. CARB woodruff key OK Replaced plug Had stator repaired, cleaned fuel line and filter checked fuel flow from tank tested HT with spark circuit tester tried new CDI removed kill switch circuit. None of above has made one iota of difference. As I booked a trials training day a while ago, and now its come round, it's next Saturaday, rather than miss it, its off to BVM in morning to get fixed. Many thanks for all the useful pointers posted Julian

Stork, Plug was very black, oily. Spark plug tester (arrived today) confirmed ignition, no spark, problem at higher revs. Ordered new CDi today

Ok have followed most of the tips given, new plug fitted, carb removed again and cleaned ( by my mate this time), not checked reeds as didn't read the post untill after done the work. Fuel line and filter removed checked cleaned OK. My mate would not act as spark tester by holding lead cap (chicken), so have ordered the real thing of ebay, at least then I'll know ignition or fuel, Many Thanks for the feed back everyone

Thanks for useful tips guys, will strip down fuel system this afternoon, I took a video of the problem and put it up on Youtube, sometimes a picture is woth a thousand words in explaining something ,Any other thoughts after seeing the vid most welcome (already

Engine totally stops firing above about 2K RPM and starts firing again when the revs drop back again. At low revs it runs fine , no misfires, starts fine first time, though will very occasionally kick back. It seems as if the sparks is stopping above a certain rpm though not sure how to test/prove that this is the fault. CDi ?, plug lead........

That got it off, a bit more muscle power need, Woodruff key ok so took stator off and sent to Westcountry rewinds, was informed the trigger was faulty, repaired and back with me in 2 days, very quick turn round. Problem is IT STILL WONT REV , same problem. Revs to about 2000RPM then stops firing above that, but it seems to run absolutly fine at tick over and up to 2K rpm, Anyone have any other idears have taken carb off and cleaned it and new plug .

Ok thanks for the help guys, Off to the NEC bike show tomorrow so will give it another go on tuesday, I was giving the puller a fair bit of torque using two 15" spanners and thought any more and something would bust! Thats why I was concerned about removing the two philips screws first or not, Must try harder

I need to remove the flywheel as there is a problem with the stator or woodruff key( bike wont rev) Having bought the puller tool it won't come off. Do the 2 philips headed screws need to come out first before the flywheel will come off? I have tried to remove these with no success (impact driver etc) If they need to be removed before the flywheel will come off then I will probably need to drill then out !! Any help most appriciated.

I seem to have the stator problem. Revs to about 2 - 3 K then cuts out until rpm drops back again. Do the two philips headed screws on flywheel need to be removed first before using puller?(the ones where in a previously posted photo , are used to fix the holding tool in place). And is the nut normal left hand thread. 2002 rev3 Also has anyone known of this problem coming and going at all? thanks Julian.

I bought a red one off ebay, eventually,I was bidding on one and just lost it (

Had the same clutch not dissenaging problem, carried out all of the above, and now its clearing fine, thanks all the info, wet n' dry on plates, cleaning edges and AFT. A couple of problems I came across were: a) I only took off the circular cover, 4 bolts, to get to the clutch plates, this seemed sufficient, because, After removing the kick start bolt I could not get the kick start off, does it just pull off? tried wedging it off with screwdriver against case but wouldn't budge, stopped before I damaged casing, so couldn't get the full cover off.
