fixed!
found a blocked jet, not sure what one seems ok now.... just cant find the base settings for screws.

can anyone tell me the base settings for the idle mixture and air screws please, cant find them anywhere.

yeah im fearing the mains, i always do fear the worst but the bike has done very very little work, and the idle is abit "floaty" When the idle is high the slightest touch to the air screw and it drops to a classic 2 stroke slow idle (just how i like it) ill pull it apart and report back thanks for all the info so far!
Its the only time ive not cleaned the bike between rides so im hopeing its just muck in there!

just wondered if someone can point me in the right direction, i have an 09 290 sherco, and the revs started falling really slowly and holding a high idle, throttle cable is fine and bike rides and start's perfectly.
obviously its the carb but what could be the cause? Throttle slide appears to snap shut ok. I dont have much time between now and weekend to get it fixed!
Really appreciate any help.

I have an 09 and with a high gear and good clutch control these bikes will go anywhere, its when you get in a muddle it tries to pull your arms off!

yeah great bike, no need to hammer it on the revs just point and squirt and feel it pull your arms off!
Just keep on top of maintenance, take it apart to clean and grease.

when is the trials back on eurosport.
i only have uk eurosport and i cant find a listing anywhere to tell me when its on.... eurosport is fecking useless!!

im looking to go up to the lowie trials park on a friday day time, is it open during the day? or just im the evenings?
any info would be great, i just got back into trials and need as much practice as i can get...
Failing that ill go to Raydon Sand pits.

Looks like ill have to come up with a decent idea.... id love to just take it off but if there is no where to lean the bike what do i do!!??

put petrol in the oil? you must be mad...
change the oil then get the engine hot, then when its hot change the oil again and do so for the next few rides...

So whats up with the sherco side stands, the aluminium one snaps becuse they designed it badly, so then they fit a steel one thats a different length etc and barely stands the bike up..
has anyone resolved this issue buy using a stand of another bike or do i need to make myself one that does the job!
I think sherco need some new staff in there R+D department.

having recently bought an 09 sherco looking beyond the good looks and nice ride, id say the build quality and design was pretty poor, but they are only built to perform which they do.
things like grease nipples on the rear shock pivots would be nice, stainless steel spoke nipples so they dont rust/snap.. kick stands that dont snap an airbox that doesnt allow water to get in if you ride up a stream.. and a stop so the kick start doesnt damage the frame... all minor things and totally avoidable...

ok so i bought one online that said it did trials bikes and enduro, and it only fits the rear wheel nipples not the front!
nice.. so beware when buying a tool thats listed for trials bikes.

no its fine you just have to use the right oil.

you wont at 80:1 becuase theres not much oil in there..

i use 33:1
but you must not use oil designed for motocross bikes its designed for engines that are flat out all day long and they will foul the plug.. you must use a light road 2 stroke oil..
