  1. Looking good Paul pity I can't be there to help out or ride.
  2. If it's the same land as last year there was about 4 sections in the start field (carpark) and the rest where not that far a walk, go enjoy the day.
  3. A quick call to Gas Gas had the problem solved within a hour, like Pandelboy says you have to remove and completely strip the cartridge (very easy to do if your mechanically minded) then recharge the cartridge with 80ml of oil before assembling back into the fork leg. All my internals where ok it was just a bleed issue. Thanks for all the reply's.
  4. When cleaning the bike after the last trial the front end did not feel right at all, with the brake on and pressing up and down on the forks I could feel a knock, checked the head bearings they where ok but found knackered wheel bearings and presumed they where the problem, whilst the wheel was out I decided to change the fork oil and thats where I am now, the wheel bearings where rough running but they where not collapsed so I'm now thinking this was not the cause of the knock from the front end, I'm now starting to think that the forks broke during the trial. I have the phone number of a lad that had the same problem during the SSDT so I'll give him a call today along with Gas Gas and try to find a way forward.
  5. Thanks for the reply, Oil level is correct and the cartridge is bled (can only get slight resistance on the rod when pulling it up) when the forks are in the bike they compress nicely then spring back like a pogo stick, if you lift the front end you can feel a knock as if the forks are trying to pull apart ?
  6. Lost all the rebound on the front forks, have changed the oil and done a visual check all seems ok, the cartridge is a sealed unit so you can't do anything with it, have been told this has happened to a couple of riders in the SSDT and they had to get new cartridges, does anyone know a fix or a way round this or do I just have to buy a new rebound cartridge ?
  7. Steve I can't comment on this particular trial but I have ridden there trials before, pay your tenner and away you go normally on ggod bits of land as well. There is a Scarborough trial this weekend if thats a bit closer to home for you.
  8. Cheers No porn I work for the Arabs, porn channel taken away
  9. Thanks for the reply My problem is I'm sat offshore bored out my skull looking for things to do on a night, I was wanting to know the routes so I could buy OS maps so I could plan some good walks around the trial, I reckon I would have needed 4 OS maps to cover 2010 routes. First time up the 6 day this year just hope the weathers good, last time in Fort William on a bike it peed down.
  10. Are this years route maps out yet ? I'm up for 5 days and want to sort out where I want to get to
  11. That's Armstrongs, Petite & France now White's gone in the last year and a half we only have Tilsons left for the big stuff now, a sorry state to be in. With next years price and VAT increase a new R1 will be nearly
  12. They showed a convoy of illegal 4x4's that stopped when the police helicopter found them.
  13. Only problem I see is illegal bikes/cars and riders, get rid of them and the rest of us might be left alone to enjoy ourselves.
  14. Can't play on the bike so I went for a play up Blakey Ridge Then to the Red Lion for a T-Bone Just noticed this topic is nearly a year old must pay more attention, never mind it was good up on the moors today.
  15. Would have loved to ride it but unfortunately I'm 120 miles North East of the Shetland Isle's in the middle of the North Sea on a tin box on legs, and not home till the 30th I will be home for your Jan trial so will give it a go, somebody has to come last
  16. How did it go today ? I see some high scores from good riders was it tough ? or where the condition poor ?

    Brake pedals?

The lever on the later model Pro's sticks out further thats the only difference between the old and the newer types, both types fit the later model but if you fit the older type lever to the newer bike the lever tip does not stick out as much so you have less to put your boot on, but on the plus side you don't catch it on as many rocks and bend it as it's tucked in closer to the engine. The one I have fitted to my bike was made for the earlier models but works well on my 2010.

    Brake pedals?

Do you mean this type ? If so yes I have one on my 2010 and its fine, machined from billet alloy a good solid design far superior than the cheap cast replacement sold everywhere else. Hope this helps.
  19. Last trial there was no day membership and only a
  20. I have not been riding that long so I can only comment on the few I have ridden so far. I have found and also been told by more experienced riders that all the trials out in the Dales are harder than ours but in my opinion they are much more enjoyable. I intend to be riding more out that way next year as I think it will make me a better rider. All the ones I have done so far have been in water filled rock gulley's, great fun but you do need some good waterproof boots. I would not worry about the standard just go and enjoy yourself, after all I have last place in the pocket every week

    iTrials

Just downloaded it and had a quick go seems OK for 59p, it will keep me occupied on the old Aberdoom rattler for a hour or two, the sound is annoying so best turn it off or use headphones.
