  1. There's them that can and there's them that talk about it. Your spot on Alan.
  2. If you want to tax the bike on line just say you've got an MOT even though you don't require one and it all sails through.
  3. Frames were not made out of T45 but the were made out of 531?
  4. Well said Hondars250. Why do people leave there plannning to enter Scotland to the last minute? My plannning for 2013 started after the presentation in 2012 also because my bike is ridden in Yorkshire it not as radical as it looks?
  5. As I said before you need to speek to Jim and ask him what they said about his bantam design.
  6. Come on stop playing on words Identifiable and silhouette to me mean the same.
  7. Well you need to speek to to jim Pickering he may have the answer you require as they spoke to in Scotland.
  8. It does mention the mods they asked for in the regs( silhouette) the top suspension mounts do not look like tiger cub. Its not a big job to do the mods. There regs are what they expect someone to follow if the want to ride in Scotland. If you dont like them dont enter. They seem to be asking less than they at some clubs in England. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE REGS DONT ENTER?
  9. What's all the fuss about? The regs are out and they state what is eligible. My bike was entered last year a tiger cub. I was also told not bring it back in its current form next year. But a long with a few other people they did tell us what they would like changing. It’s not a problem a few simple fixes to make the rear suspension mounts to make it look more like cub. None of the modification will upset the geometry of the bike. The engine is now running the correct shape barrel and head for a pre65 engine.
  10. Have mailed mik60ish to say the goods are sat here a waiting payment. He may have phone the landline which does not let you know what number rang. If he did ring over the weekend I was away for the week end theres no landline in workshop.
  11. I've just had a 115 main jet direct from Amal. Jack
  12. Ian Roberts (Serco)has decided to show his face on ebay as may0905 If anyone is looking for him Thats the lead.
  13. Having followed this article for a few weeks to me it looks like your going round in circles. You seem to be spending a lot of time messing with the carburettor. You mention that you have strobed the timing. What you have not mentioned is the position you static timed it too. I think your problems will be timing related.
  14. Have you sorted your problems yet? Have cured some similar problems on mine by fitting an Amal carb. The bike now revs out and runs well. Does your bike smoke when hot?Jack
  15. As the enterprising lad I would if I new how to put a picture on the forum i would. The reason the brake is on both side is the way I did it, it still needed part of the old brake lever to work so I just left the whole thing in place.Jack
  16. Max hayes also does hubs they have been winners two years on the trot in Scotland.
  17. The best way I have found to stop the clutch slipping is to use 4 friction plated and 4 metal plates as to Charlie re inventing the wheel i've had know problems with the adjusting nut. With the extra plates you do not have to adjust the screws as tight and the clutch becomes lighter. PS my bike is ridden most weekends?
  18. What looks like a difficult job is quiet an easy job. There just a few things people assume first the post are spaced at 120 degress this is not fact only one is at 120 and both I and Alan use left had threads. The reason for the left hand thread when you deep mill the post the cutter will try to screw the post in not out. Jack
  19. What was the real cost of a works bike?
  20. looks like somebody touched a nerve?
  21. Back in 1972 I ran a C15 on the road (I still have the bike) I had the same problem. When I went to the local BSA dealer he said change the lay shaft bush, I did and it stopped jumping out of 1st gear.
  22. Triumph put engine oil in the gear box not 90 grade.
  23. The only time I have seen oil leak from the main shaft is when the oil level is too high. In your question you did ask whether it would help to stop the oil leak it might on the timing side as it blanks it off. When a cub is put together well it does hold its oil well. Which side is the oil leaking from and can you see it coming from the main shaft?
  24. Having read what TrialsRfun has written about the clutch lightener by ARMAC I have fit one and it was easy to fit. The lightener was designed by a person that puts a lot of research into his products and are all field tested before release. As for oil coming though the gear shaft he needs to spend more time maintaining the gearbox, the clutch lightener will not fix a gear box with worn out bushes or worn main shaft, these need to be sorted before you can move forward.
