  1. How do you become a TC supporter have had a look at how to upload a photo and had brain fade
  2. Having worked on AJS Matchless forks since the early seventies I have come across this problem a few times. From the experience you have to be careful when heating up the slider as these forks have plastic top bearings. The modern ones are made of nylon and seem to swell with moisture and become very tight in the slider. The best way to get the fork apart is to use a puller. If I new how to do it I would put a picture of the one I use on the thread. If you heat the older bearings that are made of bakelite they seem to swell. PS I use the same sliders on my cub (would have put a picture on the form if I new how and my identify would be revealed .
  3. The engine is a 200cc I know what size it is because I have done work on it. As I said it is down to the rider at the en of the day. A lot of people presume its a big engine because he wins alot.
  4. Hi Woody the bike you have shown in you picture has different frame to that triumph produced but the engine apart from the outer cover that is missing is nearer the mark than most. Would you like to have a say as to what its capacity is? The results of this bike are down to the rider. Do you think you would be ridding at this level at 65?
  5. Can't fault that Charlie I have had a quick look in the back of the van as my bike is still there because the jet was was frozen and it looks like swan neck cub will fit the bill also i'm a beginner I will enter I can see the flood gates opening now. Jack
  6. Well said.Have just done a little digging but I can't see where OTF tells us how much he has spent building a very shinny trick James does this mean you want a foot in both camps. Anyway you have not said which club has agreed in priciple to this new format of rules. Would you like to enlighten us or is this club just the same as some of the quotes about how pre 65 clubs in the way they go about their business. The PJ1 rounds have been quoted the organizing club have a comprehensive set of rules the quote Ariel would comply but the two British Twinshocks would not. PS I'm to a very angry man just a person that is down to earth and cannot cut the bulls..
  7. Who is your club? If you have adopted your format you will be putting a trial on in the near future so Enthusiasts will all be able to come a long and have a go. PS Charlie's bike would also be in the specials. If you see your ambition to change the trials world I will come a long and have aride if I'm not bared.
  8. If you read the thread I was asked a question and gave an answer. Jack
  9. The club where I ride would put both in the specials because the have no gators on the forks. Scotland have there own rules. They did ask for photographs of each bike and stated they had to comply to certain criteria to be accepted, the picture that has been shown on the forum is that an up-to-date picture of the bike ready for Scotland? As you seem to think it is not eligible for Scotland
  10. Well I must have hit a nerve? I have what you would call a trick cub and in some peoples eyes is a 6 grand bike. The fact is I built most of it in a garage and small shed. I machined the barrel casting put PVL posts on the crank case ETC. The next bike that is built will have even more home machined parts on it. The bike I have gets a hard life as I am not a very good rider and do not mind admitting that. Anyway I also do machine work for quite a few of the major suppliers. And what makes me laugh is the nonsense that written in how to go about doing things by then talks.
  11. Hi Where can you get parts cheap for a Serow I need a piston to go in my big bore convertion of my tiger cub. The70mm piston out of a serow will give it a capcity of 250. Jack
  12. Try a 42 pilot jet PS if you check the swept volume of you engine you will find is 226cc on a standard 67 mm piston. have you tried it with a different filter?
  13. Just to put your mind at rest the castings for the barrels come from the same supply as sercos and are machined by the same person. Have just seen a barrel that was retuned for said reason on inspection the bore was found to be round and the cause of the persons wear problems are more than lightly glass beads that have not been cleaned of the engine. This problem crops up alot.
  14. Good to watch. It was the first time I have seen myself going over the handel bars.
  15. Bob Moore At UPB and Alan Whittan
  16. Hi I would always hone a barrel first it shows me the high spot and whether I do a rebore. I use a Delapena hone and not one of those cheap glaze busters. As well as the high spots it will show how worn the barrel is at the top. If ther is a slight ridge it needs reboring. Hope this helps Jack
