theres someone whos just started riding rode 4 trials so far. he used to ride mx and use to ride unicycles. hes riding our hardest route (expert) and i should have thought he won it on sunday he was the only one to clean my dads section 4 times onlyone other cleaned it and he did it twice. This rider can hop and balance and is incredible .now considering get a unicycle to improve my trials.

got the haynes ty manual very good but not all that trials specific. It will tell you oil amounts etc.

think mine may of went and heard they go. haven't replaced again since it went. mines a 250.

i didnt take any pipes off when i took mine off but i may have removed the shock cant remember now

i would get a full face helmet but moneys tight. scooters in the uk are meant to be restricted to 35 mph (possibly kmh?) but most restrictors are taken out they need it really so might get 50 - 60 mph out of it. i might have a mask as well not a clip on one but one i could where with goggles to stop flys. i'll only use it for a bit over a year probably being used most days to get to work.

reason i asked is im probably getting a 50cc scooter and to save a few pounds thought i could just use my hebo and buy a pair of goggles which i would use again where as a full face helmet i would only use for a year.

dougie could have done it 7 times on any reliable trials bike.

the divers helmet would give me plenty of grip and that chainsaw could make some nice log sections (me dads got one ) but its not my woods .

someone at my last trial was saying that he put 2/3 grease and 1/3 oil? in a metal can and put his chain in it and heated it with a space heater. He reckoned it ran a lot more freely. I think i'll try it with my next chain before i put it on.

Anyone know if the cheap polycarbonate hebo helmet is road legal? I dont think it is as i cant see any of the green and gold or combined green and gold labels on it. thought i had seen them used in road trials though. I also have an old helmet with just a green sticker on do i need the gold one too?

I very much doubt it but has anyone had any experience with face masks for use whilst riding. Problem is where i go practicing is in a valley with heavy tree cover and because im practicing almost everyday i'm smoking my self-out and so I have a continous cough and bit of a lack of breathing and my mum who also worked this out accusing me of smoking. It is solved if i don't ride the bike for a couple of weeks so i have to get a mask of some sought. I was thinking of a mask like cyclists in citys use ( http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/itemviewer.asp...4&type=clothing ) and fixing some elastic to it and putting it around my helmet with tape like googles and can put on the top of my visor. Any help appreciated i spose i could always get an electric trials bike or convert my beta.

if it is at the start,end or begginning of the year and i get single figures i move up a route. when i have usally move up i get about 40 odd on my first trial on this route if it is a dry trial. but deciding what route to ride in a club im not use to is diffucult although a lot of clubs i think will move you down or up if you ask them to if you think it is hard.

mine did that had it welded up. the person that did it welded it nice n strong. its stronger than it was orignally.

The TY80 is a brilliant bike I learnt on one my brother learnt on one and loads of others including british,euro and world round riders. They still seem to be favourable over the little monos at trials. but we currently looking to change to a minitrial or little mono 80 but my brother will grow out of a minitrial to fast and he's to small for a geared 50 or 80. yet i rode the ty until i was nearly 14 (then moved on to a 02 beta 250) My dad wants to change because the ty80 breaks down to much and we're no mechanics and my dad wants to change it before the top end goes. It wasn't my first bike but when the ty goes it will be a sad day. sadder than when my first bike goes.

we do run a raffle for the observers with botlles of cokes and packs of choclate biscuits etc

glad to hear it steve i hate it when i cant solve a problem but then when you do you feel really good about it.

some one in my club has built up a bike which looks like a mono with no seat etc but has a tl 200 engine in it or something. it also has to falcon shocks on the rear. rides twinshock category on it.
