    Beta Rev 3 125 2000

i not sure that was the intended angine for the early revs because of the way the brackets are welded on surely if it had been intended they would of put proper brackets. has someone change the engine possibly didn't like the new rev engine but liked the new frame? engine looks smaller then the current rev
  5. don't know if this is a particular problem that affects gassers but one i bled my back beta brake all i did was loosen the valve fit a tight pipe to the valve pumped the peddle and just kept topping up the resorvior after second attempt it worked and i not a very competant mechanic with not a lot of experience

  10. there is a manual that tells you oil amount etc and maintenance chart but it is called a handbook. you could try ringing John Lampkins and ask for a HANDBOOK they will say it doesn't exist if you call it a manual. there use to be the maintance chart john lampkins site. someone might sell u a manual. just found this r2wtrials tech page for betas as he changing to good old betas : r2w's tech for beta
  11. i had the whole thing for my beta when i broke the tip of the kickstart

    Bash Plate

i think they would be better countersunk. doubt this would work but what about a spring washer between the head of the bolt and the bashplate. I recently took my bashplate off on my 02 beta and the bolts didn't seem that tight. I had to file a bit of the head of one of the bolts because it had been hit but where i live there aint many stone steps just mud. I will have to keep checking those bolts now i've taken them out once.

    Trotters Burn

yea i did have a slight incline it might be called that but to me its always been burn anyway thanks i can now use the correct term
  14. anyone know how to stop the exhaust rusting i can clean the worse of the rust off with wire wool but it will return. Pro-care can't cope with the heat and doesn't last long. I dont particularly want to spend a lot of money like chroming the exhaust.

    Trotters Burn

yea i didn't know what a burn in trials was to me a burn in motorbike view is like they have in motocross where its banked up to go round corner easier

    Bash Plate

the bolts dont go all the way through the frame so nylon nuts or any nuts cant be used. and aren't countersunk but think are m8 nylon nuts are like ordinary nuts but have a strip of nylon in which locks on to the bolt
  17. was me when i got the ******* to move! I didn't have big enough torx bits and my dad has some of those extractors but i didn't want to use them because: 1. didn't want to drill through and leave crap in the gearbox. 2. hole has to be pretty centered and straight and without taking engine out and clamping it in the pillar drill i wouldn't have got it straight. it was however one of my last options. I did try a bigger allen key but couldn't find one exactly the right size only the orignal size and to big. In the end i cut a groove out of the plug then started the bike up and warmed it up then put ice on the plug, removed the filler cap (in case of any pressure lock) and put a chisel in the groove and after a few hits it moved. replaced with new plug and fibre washer
  18. the oil drain plug on my 02 beta is stuck in and the allen key hole is chewed up. The drain plug doesn't have the fibre washer on either. I have removed the bashplate but there isn't a lot of the side of the bolt to grab. I have thought of cutting a groove in it with a hacksaw blade and undoing with a screwdriver and if that dont work put a screwdriver against the groove and give it a hit to loosen it. any better ideas? would leaving ice on it help?
  19. sorry can't think of anyone but i'll keep it in the back of my head

    Yamaha Ty250 1984

one advantage with the old bikes you can get a big hefty bar on that steel and bend it back unlike all this modern alloy.

    Rear Mudguard

nice bike my 02 wouldn't match the cleaness of yours. i've snapped one mudguard but that was the othere way slid down a bank and it caught a tree. if i flip it it flexes. thought about cable ties but with 02 muguard you got to take it all off to clean the airfilter so i would need a lot of cable ties. i've bent the front of my front mudguard so it was pointing into the sky but it went back. i think 1195 is a bit expensive. why do you have to drill a extra hole on the rev 3 and is your bashplate meant to be that shape. could i graph a 03 muguard on to a 02
