  1. That was one of the most entertaining sections ive scored in a long time. The national at our section was great too remember with Ron Como landing in a tree Seems to be a pattern here in Colorado
  2. Keep your weight farther back on the rear tire and slip your clutch to maintain constant throttle and maintain momentum through the climb. Dont make sudden throttle adjustments as you can loose traction. 3rd and 4th gear are great to work with. Best way to learn is practice practice practice.
  3. That is true however one way to bring more people into the sport is to not throw them into an intermediate line especially when they have never even been on a bike. There needs to be some way of introducing new riders to the sport and getting them used to riding regardless of competitive or free riding endeavors. I.E. Create more club trials schools where the upper level riders step back and teach new comers as well as current riders tips and tricks of good practice, section advice, just about anything that has to do with motorcycle trials. I attended one trials school hosted by one of our club pro riders here in Colorado last year and really gained some great knowledge from it however it was only one class at the beginning of season. This year however there is no class listed on the schedule at all.
  4. I completely agree with you sting32. that is very well put. I have always had the philosophy of trying to challenge riders in their respective classes but at the same time not make it so hard that no one will have any fun what so ever. Plus your right with how do you determine what is fun for riders when ever one is different. very wel put.
  5. Alpine Stars are really good boots and fit really well. My fiance (ihaterocks) ordered the same NoStops I have in a size that fits her feet and both of us have big calvs. As you wear them in they will fit even better. I would give them a try. I have worn them for years and there the best boots i have ever had. wore one pair till they fell apart completely

    ? evo engine

Heres a good video on the throttle peice and how to make your bike more or less lively. http://www.trialsuk.co.uk/how2s/section-14-bike-too-lively
  7. Season this year is going to be a hell of a lot of fun!!

  8. This is very true however every once in a great while i can get FIM enduro racing on Speed TV. I would love to try to get the NATC to get the funds up to host another world round here in the states.

    AJP Brakes

Hey guys i have a 96 JT160 GAS GAS 175cc with AJP front brakes. I just fixed a stuck piston problem not too long ago. (You may remember my post about it. Thanks to all for the help) Anyway i have working brakes with it but it acts really goofy now. When the bike is anywhere from leaning to the left like in a turn or strait doesn't matter the brake feels like it should. However if i lean the bike to the right only. Either a turn or strait past about 30 or so degrees the lever gets softer or to describe it better the brakes clamp with the lever closer to your fingers. Whats going on?
  10. Hey guys how do you get any of the world events on tv here in the states to watch any of the world rounds. I have been looking to no avail. I would love to watch the next X trial and up coming outdoor trials events on my tv as appose to on you tube if its possible.
  11. Hey guys im wondering if anyone knows of any websites and or companies who sell the XC-Ting brand clothing products. Im very interested in buying some gear from them but i have had no luck in finding a supplier with the gear im looking for. Can any one suggest something?
  12. Hey guys i need to know what i should be running for transmission oil in my 94 beta techno 250. Im currently using DEXTRON III or DEX MERC as its also called. Its a little thicker compared to what cam out of the bike from its first oil change since i have had it. I have noticed that it makes my cluch more grabby and i have had to compensate with the adjustment screw all the way in to get it to release. Before i changed the oil it was just fine. Its not a worn out clutch either. Bike has hardly been ridden in all its life till now. So what oils are you guys using and what would be the best.
  13. sorry guys im not interested in 4 stroke's. I dont like how they dont pull off the bottom very well with getting the power to the wheels like the 2 strokes do.
  14. So from what im getting as far as im looking I should try to find a 07 or 08 rev 2t or maybe even a 06.
  15. Hey guys how do you determine if the spring in your rear shock is appropriate for your weight. In my 94 beta techno still has the stock spring from when it was new and the bike is also over 15 years old and has been ridden for most of its life fairly average till this year as im ridding it at local and national clubman level. I weigh 156 lbs (dont know what that is in stone for you guys over seas) but do i have an appropriate spring or do i need to invest in something different. I have seen vids of my same bike lifting far higher out of the back and front ends than what im actually getting and im doing things appropriately. got any ideas fellas.
  16. OK guys i got a question for you. What kinds of bars are you guys using. I have a 94 beta techno and i have started to notice the the original handle bars are really beginning to show the wear and tear from years of riding. What kind of bars would you guys recommend i should look at. I have seen a Renthal trials bar at my local apex sports store. Has any one used them. What other brands or kinds would you recommend. I have seen Fat bars on Lewis Sports page but i have no idea what to go for.
  17. Here is how well i have gotten with my balance however there is always room for improvement. Great to practice on these winter days when you just absolutely cant go ride. quite fun really.
  18. Hey guys thanks for all the info. We were able to finally get both pistons apart and working properly. The seized one just had alot of dirt and crap that some how go in there but it is now functioning. Did not have to replace the seals. Will do that next time. Thanks again guys.

    New bike time

Ok guys i need your help here. Im beginning to look for a new beta here in the states to start riding. My Techno is a great bike in all but im really beginning to notice that my riding ability is really beginning to outweigh the age and weight of the motorcycle. Members in my club even tell me that once i get onto a more modern lighter bike that i will really be on my way to doing well. I am also agreeing with them more and more. Ideally i want to go to the new EVO however budget just will not allow that to happen at all. So i need to look at the rev years. What can you guys tell me from anyone who has experience with any rev 270 cc from 2002 to 2008. Tell me pros and cons of bikes through those years. I know that if i go with a 2002 it will be cheaper than a 2008 but would i be wasting my time. I have spent some time and have heard some good news about both the 07 and 08 and i like the 07. Is that worth pursuing?
  20. Thanks Zippy, yeah i do have it figured out pretty well. its a really great way to spend time practicing when you cant go ride anywhere for what ever reason. Its a hell of a work out too. Add some hopping and you can spend hours practicing two things.
  21. Try parking a 94 Chevy 3500 HD Extended bed Crew Cab dually Truck in tight spaces. L200 is not that big compared to that.
  22. Oh come on guys snow is like one of the best things to ride in EVER!!! You guys are hilarious I love riding in snow. Its a great balance prep-er and really teaches you how to get your ass over the rear fender when you really need to hook up. I say go ride and learn how you and your bike reacts to snow and learn how to distribute your weight accordingly. I ride in snow all the time here in Colorado in the states. Really helps you out when its dry and shows you how lazy you can be.
  23. Yeah i like that answer. That will help any one balance Ok here is what i did to learn how to balance. dead motor balancing the bike on various angles and terrains learning my center of gravity on the bike. First starting with brakes on and then one at a time no brakes in those locations. I have now gotten to where i can balance on the bike with no hands no brakes at all in all sorts of areas. I taught my Fiance how to ride and this is how i taught her how to balance and she can balance better on the bike than she can walk. no joke she even admits to it. From what ive learned finding the center of gravity and maintaining that is the key to balancing anywhere. These are pics of her after about 2 weeks of learning to ride.
  24. Why not just get a full size truck to use in stead of a smaller light duty. Why not get something with a full standard bed and an extended cab to make hauling everything easier. You can easily get three bikes in the back of a standard box bed and carry all your gear in the cab for when it rains. This is how i do it here in the states
