  1. I found a site that carries all the beta manuals from the TR34R to the new evos from beta it self. all the techno years are listed as well. In PDF. As far as your fuel mixture goes i own a 94 techno 250 and run a 100:1 mixture in it. I mix 6.5 ounces of oil to 5 gallons of gas in other words. It runs great at that mixture here in colorado and i have never had a problem with it. Beta Parts and Manuals http://www.trialsport.com.au/beta/documents.htm
  2. This is probably something that has been asked before but Im curious about which type of coolant is best to use in a trials bike. Ive heard things about a product called engine ice before. Which is a good coolant that will keep my 94 techno running a little cooler in a hot climate in Colorado. Give me your opoinions ideas tips and tricks guys. Thanks
  3. Well I finally have an answer for all of you who wonder if it really is necessary to change your oil in your gear boxes on your bikes. After being used for 15 years without an oil change i pulled very little metal from the oil. there was a very little build up on the magnet on the plug but nothing serious. so you can run a bike without changing oil however its better to do so. Bike shifts great now even better than it did before the oil change. I also learned that my shifting problem is due to the fact that these era trials dont have the best designed transmissions so they dont shift as well as a new bike does. Thanks evey one who helped out.
  4. I believe the gear poping is due to the transmission not engaging the gear fully and it only happens in first or second gear as well as it doesnt occur all the time. It just pops out when you start off into neutral. Im still looking for the fill for oil though however. not too sure where its at yet. Also what would any of you guys suggest of an oil to run? Dan this is no joke. I know all the previous three owners of this motorcycle when it was purchased new. and have talked to all of them. Its still carrying its orginal stock factory oil. The motor has never even had to be worked on. the piston rings still hold so much compression that its just as hard to kick over now as it was new. Shercojay I have no intention on selling it anyway. This bike rides just as nice as any new one and untill i have the finace to buy a new EVO im going to keep riding this Techno
  5. the gears are starting to make alot more noise than normal plus it pops out of gear ever once in a while. I think that the oil in the transmission is flat worn out. and with how hard im starting to ride it i figure its time to change fluids. I know for sure that it doesnt leak anywhere which is really good for its age
  6. Hey guys I have a 15 year old beta techno. the 94 black and yellow. It has finally come time to do an oil change in the transmission. This will be the first time this has been done since the bike was bought new. how hard is it to do it yourself and what type of oil should i use to put back into it. It still shifts just fine with the original factory oil in it. What kind of things do i need to look for when i go through it. Any tips tricks and help is appreciated.
  7. Well im taking over the bike from its last owner and am cleaning it up and trying to maintain it better than they did. This bike is also in exellent condition as is. Like i said this is the first time the forks have been off the bike since new and a new set of seals and oil for them.
  8. Hi this is going to be a tricky one. I have a 94 Beta Techno with the upside down forks on it. What i want to try to do is find one a techno in a later year that has the conventional fork setup and swap the whole front end assembly. A: is it possible to do so. B: where should i start looking. Reason im looking to do this is to stop loosing my front brake due to leaky fork seals. and gravity is not helping with the matter. My current forks are in great condition with no scratches in the forks at all. The seals are just old and are about to be replaced. MY seals have not been replaced since the bike was new. If the seals are changed regularly does this solve having a front brake coated in fork oil?
  9. Yeah ill be there for sure. Ill have to give you details on how to find me there. When i was exploring my bike and tuning some settings i took the seat off to look at the top of the coil over spring. at the top there is a blue colored knob which you can turn easily to make the suspension stiffer to compress or softer. i made it softer and losened the spring tension on the spring slightly by about a half turn. it made it bounce more. I just want to make sure that is the right direction to get where i need the suspension so im not fighting the back tire
  10. I have a 94 Beta techno and ended up some how completely destroying mine while out riding one day. I got a brand new one from a local dealer of mine and it fit exactly like the old one did. Just like it was never missing. So unless its been modified or my understanding is wrong. A new one should fit with no problems
  11. Actually i have maintained the bike very well. nothing is binding and there is no problems any where on the bike. Its been well ridden all its life.
  12. I have a 94 BETA Techno 250 and im working on setting the suspension front and back to where i like it. I have the front set to my liking but im having trouble setting the back. Im looking to set it to be a little more springy. Currently its sorta stiff and hard to work around. What can i do guys.
  13. Im looking to find a replacement rear mudguard for my 94 Techno 250. I just recently and sadly ended up breaking my fender in half in my back yard. Where can I get one to replace the one I have and just fixed? Also im looking to find a spark arrestor that fits the 94 muffler on my techno. Im having trouble locating one. Thanks in advance.
