Hi guys & gals? I used to do a lot of trail riding & went for 4 years running to the isle of man in april with the trf guys, about 25 to 30 of us & they still go every year & stop in duglas. Fantastic experience. My point is i started going on a Honda xr250 & struggled like hell. 2 yrs on & i bought myself a brand new Kawasaki KDX220 & suddenly i was a better rider & managed more hills than before. Every time we had managed to sometimes get to the top of a difficult climb like the WIDOWMAKER, i never made it & used to go round it. I would say look lads we are on the wrong bikes we should be using trials bikes, admitedly with a crosser rear tyre fitted but i,m sure thats the way to go. Anyway now i,ve bought one & maybe i will try the isle this year If the lady indoors will let me. I think she will because she keeps saying do what the f--- you want so i think i might. tee hee. Fantastic forum keep it up. Just ordered a long range tank & seat unit from beta so i can get the range. Keep this thread going & we might end up with a trials bike type enduro.

Hi all. Any help would be great. I have a set of alpinestar boots from road riding & a brand new pair of sidi road boots which are what i call only 3\4 length. Although they have a good grip on the trials footrest & have good shin, ankle & toe support. But i am led to believe they are no good for trials type riding. When i ask at places like woosters etc they say trials boots are trials boots. But looking on e-bay & web in general they are mostly advertised as Trials, enduro, motorcross boots. Whats the differenc & basicaly what the H--L do i need to look for. HEEEEELP. Steve. LEEDS.

Sorry, I understand now. As far as i know anything brought into the uk from another country has import duties & VAT added.

Hi guys thanks for all the info . I did find some on the site links posted. They are pretty cheap & readily available. I did think they were not the run of the mill 38mm seals as the great pounding they get from the jumps. Anyway tghanks again & great to know there,s folks from all over the world on here.

Hi all. Maybe i have completely lost it but what i would like to do is some fairly long runs on the Beta rev3 270 i have just purchased. I have located a suitable seat but they are in USA so postage to pay, but want to put a storage tank maybe onto front yokes & maybe hold say up to a gallon of fuel. I have done a lot of trail riding on my xr250 & KDX220 which are now parted with. A lot of the trails we did were up some pretty nasty inclines & down. I always said to the gang i rode with we were on the wrong type of bikes. So i,m going to do some of the runs on the beta. But more comfortably than sitting on the mudguard & adding fuel capacity. My question is:: Has anyone out there had a go at this & if so any input would be great. Many thanks to all.. Merry Christmas & a happy new year. Steve. LEEDS

Hi all just joined forum. Steve from LEEDS Been a off road trail rider for many years & a road biker for most of my life 57 now old sod, Anyway just bought myself a 2006 beta rev3 270 & so far i am delighted with the looks & quality of build. Suppose i might think differently when the thing chuck me off into a ditch or worse. From readings i maybe should have gone for the 250 or even the tamer 200, but always been a sucker for big. Gsxr100 K1, GSX1400. VFR800. and quite a few more. I,ve lost a lot of freinds to motorcycling over the years & been lucky myself so maybe its time to flog the bikes & stay off road. Not that its 100% as quite a few of our group of trail riders have had some nasty offs but not fatal & usualy just a big ouch & bruises & dented ego. Done some trials stuff when a lot younger. Always used to say to the lads we were on the wrong bikes when on trail go up steep stuff as there great for blasting green lanes but crap on steep slopes, you can,t stand up or the bike flips, you sit down & theres not enough grip. Anyway not sure of anywhere to go around the leeds area so i,ll have to look on here & see if i get any idea,s. Not asure of oil mix for bike , The guy i bought it off says he used 70ml oil to 5 litres fuel anyone know???
