Hi again and thanks for responding with your advice. You ask if it makes sence, yes nearly, understand left to right with the slot but not sure what you mean by the slot offset. Is this the hole for the pin? The rest does make sence. I have not taken the side cover off again as yet, I did put the engine etc back together after putting new main bearings in but did not know what to aline with what when I re-assembled it. So gear change is rubbish, but does work (just). Please could you tell me the rest of the information so that when I do take it apart I can do the job in one go. Thanks Mike

Hi vintagcota, yes I took the large spring out between the 2 plates so will need to know both adjustments.

Please can any one give advice on setting up the gear selector, that is located in the clutch side on the engine?
