  1. Jeff, Take a look at the Beta Rev-4T available here: http://www.tryalsshop.com/page-pre_owned.aspx Condition is excellent. I know, cause it is mine! - Darrell
  2. They don't have to be. These are on sale for $135, at the moment. Link: http://www.tryalsshop.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=2
  3. At least it is "very fast"... I know that is what I am looking for in a "treils bike".
  4. No. but there is a rumor that Mick is already unhappy with the new OSSA, and has shifted over to help Yamaha design their new bike. Or, at least engines to go into the Scorpa. Nobody seems to know if it is the 4-strokes only, or a new 2-stroke, as well.
  5. Yep, only Shiro. But, it is a really nice helmet. I have had NZI, Yes, and am currently wearing the Shiro. I actually prefer it over the other two, and it is MUCH cheaper.
  6. On a pre-65? What part(s) of the bike have to remain pre-65 then?
  7. Forgive my ignorance, but what battle is being referred to here?
  8. Good thing you didn't capitalize, as I am sure that "God" didn't have a thing to do with the music. I think you will find that the language doesn't fly around here.
  9. Not even close. Very rough bike. Maybe $500 to $600 Canadian.
  10. Owned a fair number of 315's, as have my riding buddies. They will knock like crazy on straight pump gas, and don't much like pure race fuel either. In the end, we all ran the highest octane pump gas mixed 50:50 with race fuel. The race fuel is not so critical, as long as it is 108 or 110 octane. If you can get leaded racing fuel, then even better. Mix that at 80:1 with a quality full synthetic oil, and the bike will love you for it.
  11. Montesa Honda has just released the Honda reorganization plan involving the cessation of production of motorcycles in the Barcelona plant and the dismissal of some 180 employees. Although the official team competition Montesa continue its activity, it is unclear what will happen to the production of the Cota 4RT, held at the plant in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda. The official statement of Montesa Honda SA, is as follows: "Reorganization - Montesa Honda SA Barcelona, 16 October 2009. As a result of the global economic crisis and declining sales, Honda Motor has arisen to undertake a reorganization of its motorcycle business in Europe. The reorganization is, inter alia, optimize its structure by concentrating production of factory-finished motorcycles that Honda has in Italy. Montesa Honda's plant in Santa Perpetua operations will specialize in plastic injection and painting. Montesa Honda also continue with the activities of Trial, with Montesa brand. This reorganization will result in the decline in the company of some 180 employees from a total of 340, mainly in the areas of production, but also management and business. The company opens a period of negotiation with the works council to reach agreement on the reorganization announced.
  12. I have a 1974 Cota 247, with a 24mm Mikuni on it. Bolts right onto the cylinder, without a problem. Had to machine an aluminum adapter to go from the carb to the stock rubber boot, for the air cleaner. The adapter is held onto the carb with epoxy. The boot attaches to the adapter with the standard hose clamp.
  13. The smell is based upon the brand, and type, of 2-stroke oil you mix into the gas. As stated, IPONE makes a strawberry smelling oil. Maxima makes a semi-synthetic that smell like the old bean oil. All depends on what oil you put in it.
  14. Let him ride his own bike. One of those things he should have thought about before buying a 300 gasser!
  15. Wrong. The Beta Alp goes back MUCH further than the current model, with Suzuki engines. Older ones were 2-strokes, and leaned a lot further toward their trials roots, than what is being produced today. The older model Beta Alp, and Gas Gas Pampera, were sort of half way between trials bike, and trail bike, much like the old Bultaco Alpina was, in relation to the Sherpa.
  16. Based upon finishing position, or penalty points?
  17. Interesting insight. Never considered it from that perspective, but makes sense. You just sort of imagine everyone giving it their best shot, and then counting the top three.
  18. The Tryals Shop (www.tryalsshop.com) still has Aprilia parts.
  19. Comes down to your preference, but I can highly recommend the Beta. Had my '08 for 2 years now (since new) and love it. '10 model EVO 4T on the way. Just waiting for them to arrive in the States.
  20. Almost everything Tony does is in purple!
