Any idea on the price and when they are going to be available from yet?

I think the problem is people dont know enough about the sport. When speakin to people and they ask what hobby i have they look blank faced so i describe to them and then they begin to understand. What the sport needs i think is more public advertisement. All these kids on pushbike trials get them because they see older kids on them at the local park doing tricks etc and want to have a go. Also there are plenty of shows about where pushbike trials riders set up demos in town centres etc to show what they can do. All this is putting pushbike trials in the public eye. I think that this is what needs to be done for trials motorbiking aswell. The show that was on lately in a town centre (cant remember which mind) was good to get publicity but it needs doing more often. Im sure there are many events etc where a trials demonstration can be put on to show others what its all about. I dont think just having trials on is going to invite newcomers to the sport as most dont know there on and around our area most of the spectators are the same people you see week in week out.

Ive got a pair of diadora stone 3 boots and they seem to have alot of room around the calve area, can fit my hand down the front of them where as all my old boots were tight around my calves. Mine have lasted about a year and a half which aint too bad but i ride every weekend atleast once.

Ive tried both the iridium plug and the standard ones and have now gone back to the standard ones. From what ive found is that the iridium ones dont last as long and ive had a couple which have broke down pretty quickly after been put in the bike and dont think they are worth it for the small gain you might get in performance which i didnt really notice. From what i have read they are designed more for high performance high revving engines such as mx bikes.

I think the plug that you want is a ngk bpr5es or if your wanting the ngk iridium one its bpr5eix

Hi, im looking at maybe purchasing one of the mots carbon helmets and have two questions
1. What dealers stock these helmets or is it just gasgasuk? Im near scunthorpe and want to try one on before buying but dont really fancy travelling over an hour and half to gguk to try one on.
2. Has anyone bought one of these helmets and what do you think to them?

Ive got a 2010 racing 300 and have used castrol atf for the last two years and not had any problems with it at all although others state they have had clutch swell and slipping. Any good branded oil will be sufficient i would say and its more a matter of preference, availability and what works for you. If you search through the forums there are many posts asking what oils work best with none stating a precise oil to use.

The method i use to use was just before putting the airbox on i would fill a jug with boilin water and put the rubber boot into the water and stand the airbox upright to let it soften up abit. Whilst its still warm and soft put it onto the bike and tighten it up then leave it overnight to cool and go firm and that always seemed to work for me.
Yeah Gas Gas bikes arent all that bad all makes have their issues with a second hand one its more dependant on whos had it and looked after it in my opinion. Once youve got it all sorted then im sure it will be a good bike
-
My 2006 gasser which i had did exactly the same thing. When i bought it new the rubber boot fitted perfectly no problems but over time it began to not fit correctly. I think it is just the rubber of the boot shrinking and becoming hard to be honest and nothing to do with Gas Gas making them wrong. The cnc adaptors are a good buy, i made mine but it was the same and they are alot better than the rubber ones that come on the bike.

Yeah been running it in all 3 of my bikes that ive had in last 8 years and never had any problems. Run mine at about 60-70ml of oil to 5litres of fuel.
-
Looking at when the last two years details were out i would say january with bikes been on sale from end of february/early march time.
-
It just died as if the bike had stalled. Ive got home and cleaned the carb out and that all seems to be fine and there is fuel there as the bike was running ok apart from the few times it cut out and it would do it randomly.
I was wondering if it could possibly be something to do with the plug as the bike would be hot when it would cut out and then with it taking several kicks to start could the plug of cooled again to be working correctly again? Just a thought
Cheers

Hi
Been out on my bike today and rode the first lap, bike was running fine. After a couple of laps the bike starting cutting out (around ten times over the course of the trial sometimes with revs on and sometimes on tickover) after the bike cut out it would take alot of kicking the bike to get it started again. When the bike was switched off normally it would start again first or second kick. Took the plug out at the end of the trial and it had alot of black soot around it.
My two questions are;
What is the cause of my bike cutting out like it was?
Ive got a keihin carb on the bike (300 racing 2010) what is the standard mixture setting for the carb?
Cheers

Got one fitted to my gasser and think they are good. Not really sure how much they are so dont know if they are value for money but they certainly make the throttle smoother and lighter in my opinion especially when your pulling on the bars. Will probably get one for my next bike if it doesnt have one on if they arent too expensive.

Best way that i have found to fit the rear wheel on my own is to get a small screwdriver and put it in the middle of the brake pads to keep them open. Once youve got the disc into the pads the next part is to get wheel up so its somewhere near to where it should be. After this i put my foot under the wheel and slide a large screwdriver through where the spindle goes ( make sure you put the screwdriver through from the opposite side the spindle goes in) then get the spindle and align the side opposite the screwdriver up and slide the spindle through as you push it through it will push the screwdriver out align the opposite side, push the spindle right through and put the bolt on and your done.
As far as your tyre goes it sounds to me like you haven "popped" your tyre onto the bead. You need to apply some type of lube to the bead of the tyre and then blow the tyre up until you hear two loud bangs. Michelins ive done normally inflate to around 60psi before popping onto the rim. Also make sure that the bead is clean as the tyre may not seat properly if its dirty.
Dont worry about the arrow pointing the right way on the tyre it doesnt matter which way round it goes.
I would take the tape you put into the rim out. All i would have on the rim is the correct rim tape for the wheel whether using a tube or not.

Domino grips are thicker than standard trials grips

Does anyone that have changed the bearing found somewhere to get them from? Im having quite abit of trouble sourcing a new bearing apart from if i go to Gas Gas uk
-
That is exactly the same problem as what mine keeps doing now. Dont really want to replace my shock as im getting a new bike soon but want to sort it out. I have been thinking about the sleeve idea as i can easily get one made up at work. Would using a smaller bearing o/d but same size i/d work? Thats if one is available obviously.
Cheers
-
Thanks for your replies. The sleeve sounds like a good idea but means getting it machined out which wouldnt be a problem, just a hassle. Ive been told that on the 2010 models there was a problem with the eye been too big for the bearing from new. Anyone know how much a new shock body would cost?
-
I currently have a problem with my ohlins shock on my gasser 300 racing 2010 model. I took the old rose joint bearing out the bottom threaded end of the shock as it was pretty knackered ( the larger of the two bearings) and sourced a new bearing for it. When the new bearing arrived i could push it through the eye with my fingers! Ive since put the old bearing back in as at the time i couldnt source a new one but have since found that the shock is moving and pushing out the bearing. I now need to somehow get the bearing replaced or shocker body sorted.
My questions are
Has anyone else had this problem and have you found a solution?
What is the correct procedure for inserting the bearing? Ive read that its supposed to be pressed in and loctite 601 applied is this correct?
Anybody have any ideas as to where i could source a suitable bearing to fit?
Any help much appreciated

the nau helmets are very comfortable i have found but the peak screws snap very easy as they are only plastic, the lining will come out and is washable which is a plus and they are very light and you hardly notice your wearing it i think they look very nice would recommend one

i have had a 2001 gasser 200 and it was amazing for such a little bike and it helped me alot to learn the skills of riding instead of just whacking open the throttle + they are more fun to ride and have less power so if you get in to trouble you can get yourself out again, if i was to have another new bike i would definitely be having a look at the 200 gasgas and i think the reason why they are not popular is because they dont keep their money aswell when coming to sell it and also everyone nowadays thinks that the bigger the bike the better

the haven test day was very good i think, could easily get on a bike within 30 minutes and yes the beta 4t was there it sounded very quite compared to the montesa 4rt. one bike i must say i was impressed with was the montesa 4rt, even though it felt very heavy compared to the 2 strokes i must say it has hell of alot of power and for my first ride on a 4 banger i was very impressed with it overall. the beta 200 also has alot of power and is very sharp but most of all i like the new gasser 250 truly awesome bike, shame the little scorpa 4 tricks wont there loved that last year overall a great day and thanks alot to all at haven for organising the event

someone will have to teach him that he doesn`t have to be flat out all the time
-
does it make a noise when the bike is in neutral and the clutch is out or any gear?? because if its when the bike is in neutral then my 06 bike and alot of other gassers ive heard do the exact same thing
