  1. Do you still see the crosshatch honing lining tru out the whole barrel. Otherwise you first need yr barrel checked for roundness etc before that you can order any piston sice. Un other tip. When you have it checked/measured, ask for a cleanup of the crosshatched honing pattern. This will help yr new rings to seat nicely and reduces blow by with the new rings. And to avoid any misinfomation. Yes, a nicasil cilinder can be honed. But you only need a few microns.
  2. Uhoh, do a search in this gg forum with:engine (or something like that)and try to find my topic. There is a pic of the gearbox internals.

    Engine Removal

Do you guys do anything without beer. ?
  4. great pic Thanks trailero it was slippery there, wasn't it ?
  5. No muddy pictures then? I once saw this picture on this forum of a bike, parked in a mudpool. I was hoping of more of them this year. Over the hill, and Highland lassie, do they not dare to come near the mudholes, the cameraman? Is it so remote, that area?
  6. The moor is a swamp, is it not? I just see clean bikes. Something must be wrong? Pls are there any vids or pictures of drowned bikes etc?
  7. Since i live in a country under sea level i know my mudholes, so i am espcially keen on any mud pictures. Has anyone taken some moor crossing pictures, and can give me a link? Much appreciated

    Fork Oil

Haven't we had that oil discussion earlier. Go for the right viscos, cheapest, and nicest of smell. The rest is bogus.
  9. Oke, can't leave it alone I am now concentrating on the slide Your bike needs the extra fuel sucked up tru the accelarating hole/passage which is under the slide, in stead of the normally amount that goes via the idle passage. That wld tell us that you suffer airflow tru the carb. Your engine is sucking air from somewhere else also. So i am with Ferretflasher on this one. Do a compression test, you can make one yrself, and pump up yr engine. Look for leaks around the intake manifold, and/or cilinderbase. Btw for how long this problem exists?
  10. M2c, since you told us that you had to dial in the mix screw that wld suggest a strong airflow tru the carb. So, what can create that? As is said earlier, the egine is just a pump. Yours is pumping better, but why? Did you had anything done to the engine? I just reread yr post, and are we really talking idle screw as in opening the slide higher? In that case forget my post..... and maybe i come back later

    Fork Oil

the lighter the oil the better the hopping sae 5 is probably recommended.
  12. Sendero, what about: "you feel lucky today" and "make my day"? Mich Lin, you guys have strange conversations, but to scare wildlife, won't it be enough when you just swear loud, like when you dab unnessary in a non-stop

    06 Fork Oil

Ikb, you didn't empty it fully in the first place. That is why it runs over when collapsing the fork after refilling
  14. Hutch, offcourse you can lengten the gears a bit by increasing front sprockets and/or decreasing the rear. When doing trails i reckon you hardly use first or second gear anyway, so a 12 teeth and 40 teeth rear wld help using these gears also, providing better speeds at 3rd and 4th gear. Question is do the 12 teeth fit, probably it does, but maybe someone can join here. I have been riding mid france with my enduro and i must say, there were some grandrandonnes-trails i rather wld take my trialsbike if possible then my enduro
  15. No, i was refering to the o-rings. The bolt go in, with copperpaste the most. The nuts go on dry to have proper torx readings.
  16. There is just the common rule of cross tightening the opposite bolt. You can do them in 2 times increments, first all handtight and then to the specification. Use a momentwrench to be exact. No specialties here. Maybe the o-ring can be reluctant to keep his groove. Put them in with a dab of grease or liguid gasket sealer.
  17. Stoner, was recovering from a flu he had a few days earlier. So, offcourse he faded a bit to the end.
  18. Although i am not adrressed here, i can honestly say that for the dutchclubs it won't matter whoever wins the championship, a dutch or spanish guy I am not follower of fashion, i am a man. I don't know about the british riders though. I think they all quit riding next year.
  19. Is that area free to ride in? It is not a reserve or somekind? Or were you by foot? Nice moskito though
  20. Nice picture, 2fargone, was this taken from the top? Since i live in this undersealevel country, makes me feel i was born in the wrong country
  21. At low revs a plug will always turn black and it is the low temperature that is to blame, not yr mixture. So go back to yr best mixture setting and occasionally heat the motor by doing some full throttle runs. When the fan is on, it doesn't mean that yr motor is overheating only that yr temp-switch is working
  22. Steve, the mixing only occure in the gastank, and sometimes happens when my common brand is sold out. And sometimes i just like to try something different. Like using a outboard 2stroke oil for example, to see how it smokes etc. Not mixing gear/2stroke oils here, I am not daft Thanks for yr quick reply. I feel that a lot of shops won't like yr honesty
  23. Steve, blending bio synthetic oils(like outboard stuff) with minerals also cause no treat? Or Bio minerals / with synthetics...... I am always a little reluctant to mix different brands(because of all the Bull i have learned via the www) allthough i never really empty my gastank when pouring in a other brand/mix O and btw Steve, i asked the same on an other topic but is it true that minerals and synthetics burn under differents temperatures. This to switch to a mineral when riding low throttle for long times... hence carbon built up at the head.

    Suspension Setup

The bolts you mention involve the spring-preload? My GG 2002 pro doesn't have adjustable spring-preload, just forkcaps. To change spring preload i have to put spacers in the fork to accomplise that. Maybe there are spacers inside the fork? What about your back-suspension? Is there a problem there with riderssag?
