  1. H Here are a couple of pictures of Alf,he's a work in progress,it shows the jacked up engine/plates(sorry but my CNC isn't working at the moment ).The sump guard isn't permanent .Sorry for the lack of titainium, carbon fibre and billet parts. cheers the noo Brian
  2. McMan56 I don't have any recent photos but will have Alf(my C15) out for a trial on Sunday with my local Club(Lothian Trials Club).I'll take a couple of photos and post them. All I did was to make a few alloy plates. The lower rails are still there,I've fitted an alloy bash plate for the time being but will weld perforated metal plate similar to a Beamish. cheers the noo Brian

  6. This Sunday 12/08/2012 is the Biggar Classic Show held at Biggar Showground. The show is for classic bikes, cars, commercials, tractors and usually has a good auto jumble(I like a bargain ).So if you are at loose end on Sunday why not nip along. For more details just google Biggar Vintage/classic show 2012 for more details.Oh aye Biggar is near Lanark if you were wondering where it is. cheers the noo Brian
  7. Big John, couldn't fault the trial,it was a mega event for me.I was a wee bit oot ma depth(4th trial on a twinshock, started riding trials last year),I managed more cleans on the Sunday than on the Saturday.Looking forward to next year. cheers the noo Brian

  10. Hi Ross, the body is slowly getting there, must have got bitten on the foot by something(the joys of sleeping in a tent) as between my wee toe's swollen/inflamed/itchy.I got some tablets from the doctor,I'll be fit for Sunday. Will give John a buzz. cheers the noo Brian
  11. I'll be ordering a carb in the next few weeks for Alf,does anyone have a spec. for a 22mm Amal mk1 concentric-jet sizes, needle, slide.Any advice would be much appreciated. cheers the noo Brian
  12. Big John, most of the time I seen you I was having a 5 or a 3 at best.Learned alot over the weekend, pushed my self nearly to self destruction(tweaked my back, fought cramp, 8 hours sleep over the weekend) but wanted a finish, think I was stone dead last(darts score),But enjoyed every minute of it.John might bump into you if your ever doon this way. cheers the noo Brian a.k.a Broony,Mr Broon
  13. Had a great weekend at Alvie,by far the best event I have entered so far(in my short trials career).Excellent sections, great lap and even managed to clean a few sections.Thank you to all the officials/observers for a great weekend. cheers the noo Brian
  14. Bashplate,I've got the Highland 2 day Classic at Alvie this weekend(on the TY),so by the time I put some pictures on you'll be well pished  .See what I can do. cheers the noo Brian
  15. mcman56,I had Alf my C15 out a the weekend for my first trial on the bad boy. I think I was at the wrong event(should have been a ploughing match ),I had loads of issues with ground clearance amongst other things. So on Monday I decided to jack up the engine in the frame using spacer plates,a few hours later and I had an extra 2" of clearance(My original problem was the sump hung below the bottom frame rail-dizzy motor),the front sprocket is nearly the same as the swingarm spindle(plenty of clearance),will have to finish of the exhaust and raise the tank .It'll be a wee while before its finished and ready for its next trial but I'll keep you posted. cheers the noo Mr Broon
  16. The Quarry is on the way to the Granites, off the A7 just above Middleton(heading towards Gala),its on the right, the B7007(signposted Innerleithen),the quarry is near the top of the hill just before the road turns left at the top and is on the right hand side. cheers the noo Brian
  17. Nigel, deep fried Mars bars are more west coast in the east we have deep fried pizzas , had a Gregg's steak bake after the trial on Sunday(Mrs Broon gets them from Iceland, 2 for £1.50,just pop them in the oven,Braw!!!!!!!!).Might need to bulk up this weekend as I will be using the C15.Never bother too much for a breakfast but I'll have a nice bowl of porridge with honey, then some bananas before the trial and plenty of water with some of that energy stuff in it.If I'm lucky I might even bag a Haggis from the hillside(quick little bu%%ers) for dinner . cheers the noo Brian
  18. Plenty Food for thought ,it's interesting to see what's on offer that helps riders through an event. cheers the noo Brian
  19. What do you eat during a trial?I am looking for advice on what to eat during a trial.Pies and buns don't seem to work.At present its a Mars bar or a couple of bananas and plenty of water, then the same again when I fuel up the bike.I'm getting on a bit (40 something) and yesterday got cramp just as I finished a climb through a steep rocky section and bailed out just after the ends cards(someone told me it was because lack of salt?). I've heard that oat bars/jelly sweets are good for you as is peanut butter, what works for you? cheers the noo Brian
  20.
