Ah get oo'er yersell ffs, yer the second geezer already in the short time I've been on here has harped on about some politics pish that I could care less about
It's a fooking hoot to me, I'm having the time of my life, why can't ye all just bask in the glory of some sad old mid 40's dude having just taken up the sport and loving it

Thanks for clearing everything up folks, and I do sincerely hope that there are no issues with said "muppets"
I hope it's a fantastic week and everything goes well, and best of luck to ALL competitors
Must go, have my second ever trials tomorrow
-
Now that's a fantastic reply
My posting was a genuine question/query and you've summed it all up perfectly and thanks for that.
To the other contributors, I may be new to the sport but I'm not wet behind the ears when it comes to land access we have up here and all the tree huggers etc, I know exactly what they are about and to clear things up, I have no intention of riding there when it's on or even when it's not, 120 miles to get there in a car/van to unload a bike is not for me, that's 120 glorious road biking miles I can get in to get there
-
Excuse my ignorance but...I am very new to the sport (weeks) but have been aware of the SSDT's for a long time and since being on here I have read numerous times about how concerned they are about losing sections etc, and rightly so, and hense why they make such a drive to stop spectators riding off road them self, however, I can't stop thinking it's all being used by the authorities to brake your back with!
By this I mean, the possible threat of losing things, surely it was be an enormous own goal for the local area, local authority, local land owners etc etc to make any attempt to stop things. The world attention the area gets, the influx of visitors, the money the local economy would make, it just doesn't ring true to....tell what I'm missing ??

Once again, I believe that is frowned upon also, but just crack on up there, no one will mind
-
Only with the landowner's permission up here now I think.
Just wish I lived out in the sticks like that, I'd be away bagging Munros every night

Interesting topic. I had a very similar experence at the weekend, it was my first ever trial, didn't do as well as I hoped, didn't finish last, had the time of my life, then seen the scores on the club website and thought WTF....
I also then thought, why are certain people doing the easier route when they are scoring in single figures ??? There may well be perfectly valid reasons for it, but just looks not quite right when you see the scores on line
-
You don't need social skills for the internet mate, it's virtual
-
Seems a right sensitive bunch on here
-
At my trial on Sunday I noticed some guys with huge sprockets on the rear, made mine look tiny, so I'd like to try something bigger than the standard 38, what size would you recommend for starters ??
-
You've been a member for 7 years, I'd have thought you would've felt welcome by now
-
Start you're own topic then

Had a great day out, was really disappointed in myself after lap one, I was hopeless, far too nervous, not enough belief in myself, really felt I had let myself down. I have practised much harder sections and cleaned that some on the trial.
Lap 2 I felt better, if not for a couple of stoopid 5's I'd have scored better, lap 3 and 4 I was much more confident and scored arrordingly, but overall I have a long, long way to go, but really enjoyed it, and have another one this Sunday.
Only thing I am slightly puzzled with is other peoples scores, I not casting aspersions but some of the scores were very low for the "B" route, should these guys really be in doing that route ???

Went and got myself rock oil lite, will see how if goes after tomorrow
-
What kinda gearbox oil is best suited for my sy250 ?
I used to put rock oil 10/40 in my 200 ktm enduro, but trials is all new to me, so not sure if that would be best for it also ???

Come Sunday I shall be competing in my first ever trial. Only just bought a bike a week ago and I'm all very nervous about it, so other than having a blast, what tips/advice do the massive have for me ??
-
They have 5 seats, but unlike the other poster, I have to have all my rear seats down to get the bike in, which is fine cause I have no friends anyway
-
Any particular engine oil I should be using ???
-
I have kinda asked the question before, but here goes, my partner is interested in getting into trials and although I have asked this question before about what bike would suit her, this time I have had her out on my bike, and I know now that there is too much compression in my 250 for her to start, also she is too small to be able to stand up and kick it.
So with that in mind, what size of bike will suit her best, she's 5' 2 " and 8 stone...
Apologies for asking the same question again, but this time I come having seen her on my bike...
-
Wow relax fella !
As per PM, there was no trolling on my behalf.
I've been interested in this sport about 5 minutes and I mean 5 minutes so have no idea or interest in the politics or egos who are involved, I keen to learn the sport and find out as much info as possible, hence why I asked the question I did, had I known everyone was so touchy around here I'd have kept my council, but then if you know nothing the only way to find out if to ask.....no ?
-
err.....am I missing something here ?
I note my posts have been removed
-
80 - 1 mixture ? Is that correct ?
