Again I'd love to discuss the lights. I found a light kit from an MR175. It's the same lights. The bulb was blown in the headlight thou. Can you use a 12 volt bulb? I ordered the 6v25/25w bulb. still waiting for it. If the headlight bulb goes does it cause the taillight to go out as well?

It's the right bulb. The voltage comes from the stator and yes the lights get brighter when you rev it as it should.. A wire came lose under the tank due to the lousy job I did making jumpers. I ordered 4 headlight bulbs and 4 taillights. Again does the taillight bulb go out when the headlight bulb goes? Has anyone had a headlight light bulb go and the tail light stay on? Does anyone have a headlight for this bike? TL, MR, MT, CT there all the same headlight. I need one more. Just registered the bike today and all I need is to get these lights working and I can ride through town on this TL. There's a company in Thiland that has them new for like 40 bucks but I don't want to wait a month for it to show up.

The lights worked about ten sec then the bulb burn't out. The tail light went out also but it looks fine. I assume when the headlight bulb goes it breaks the circuit and that's why the tail light went out. But, does anyone know for sure? I got insurance today on the TL's. First step in the registering process. Made it to the DMV right at closing but they told me to go back to the town hall first. So the big day will be Monday to find out if I can pull this off and get these bike's road legal. I ordered 4 sets of bulbs and believe it or not the tail light was still available from Honda so I got that to. Found a switch from an XR that should work and am biding on a like new headlight on ebay. I will take tons of pictures once this project is complete and I am riding around downtown Portland.

Problems all solved. I bought an MR 175 and the light kit on it is an exact match to the TL light kit. Just swapped it all over and the lights work beautifully.

Also found a 1976 XL 175. Would this work?

I just found a 1976 Honda MR 250. The lights on it look to be a perfect match of the TL 250 lights. Will these system work? The bike is a 2 stroke

I had a TL 250 and a TY 250 with lights many years ago Headlight, tail light, brake light. Neither had a battery and the lights worked fine. I just need to know what year and model bikes are the same. There are tons of parts on ebay but no one can tell me for sure what model and year bikes have the parts I need that will work. The lights don't need to be affective as I am only going to use the bike in downtown Portland and the city is well light at night. The stock TL light kit is impossible to find. So I need another solution.

If you figure out the lights I'd like to hear from you. I have a TL 250 and want to put a light kit on it but don't know what to get. Any help would be great.

Already spoke to them a while back. They have nothing as far as lights. Still waiting for a chain and main jet from them to show up.

Not what I wanted to hear. Does anyone have the light kit or what I need to have a working headlight/taillight/brake lights for this bike. What other model bike could I search for that would have a lighting system that would work on my bike? There are no local Trials clubs in my area.

It has a fresh 298 kit and has been fitted with a n XL 350 Flywheel. The engine was repositioned and the lower frame tubes were removed. The swing arm has been shortened and has repositioned lower shock mounts. It was fitted with a custom Powroll pipe and supertrap silencer. It has brand new Sammy Miller gas shocks along with an over sized chain and rear sprocket. It rides like it just came off the showroom floor, not that I know for sure what that would be like, but I have owned a dozen TL 125's and 250's and none of them felt like this going down the trail. Yes, it was built to be ridden. But I have others for the woods. This one I would like to use for riding around downtown Portland as an antique piece. Let it be seen by people who would normally never see anything like this and of course be a nice conversation piece. However I can't find the lighting kit for it. I can order a cool aftermarket headlight and taillight set up from the local Harley shop but my question is will these lights just plug in to my wiring harness and light up? I also need the brake petal and hand brake switches to light the brake light. Where can I get these? Has anyone done this before? Maybe offer me advice on finishing this project? I sold my street bike and need something to putt around on this summer. Any advise greatly appreciated.

The last 2 pictures are my other TL's. They all run perfect but the new one is just to nice to ruin in the woods. I took it out Sunday and got it covered with mud and felt very guilty about it.

New Guy here to this site. This is my new TL. I want to put a light kit on it so I can register it for the road. Just want to putt around the roads of downtown Portland Maine. Where can I find a light kit for this bike? Thanks Mike
