  1. The exhaust on my bike was very loud, so thought that it was time to check if there was any damage and also a re-pack of the silencer. I found with the help of a user on this site that it was missing O rings between each section. I have now noticed that the mid section is empty, although it does seem to be unusually heavy for its size. Should the mid section be packed? and with what? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you Andy
  2. Hi, Almost finished stripping down my bike. My favourite flying has been in Austria, with Kelly Farina in Mayrhofen, I have also been to Bassano, which was very good. Thanks Andy
  3. Hello Jon Thanks for your reply. Will get on to Gas Gas UK to see if they have any Thank you again Andy
  4. Hello CaptainSlackBladder and Welshoneder, Thank you for your reply. I live in the Rhondda Fach, and I tend to do my flying around Nant-y-moel, Treorchy, and the Rhigos. I do go to Fochriw, and Abertyswg, but not so often as I used to when I started around 10 years ago. Flown Pandy once only top to bottom. I can fly hills above my home, which are not registered sites, I have light weight harness/rucksack and reserve, and take off is only a 10 minute ride on the bike or around an hour if I fancy a walk, which is not so often these days. I find the the light weight kit easy enough to carry on short easy trips, but would not like to go very far. Unfortunately the big end went on my gasser last weekend, so in the process of stripping it down this week. Take Care Andy
  5. In the process of restoring my 1998 TX 270. Cleaned and repacked the silencer, I noticed that there was no seal between the silencer and middle box and the middle box and down pipe, there was some rubber on the middle box section that connects to the silencer, but this was in a bit of a mess. Should there be a seal between each section of the exhaust and any idea what the melted rubber on the middle box section was. Thank you in advance Andy
  6. Thank you Jon, I do mean the 'base bolt'. 'Doh' I understand now, it makes sense to lower the upper tube (didnt think of that at the time). When I changed the seals and dustcap I put the whole fork together to make sure everything fitted ok. Went to put the oil in by just unscrewing the top bolt and out came the base bolt, just couldnt work it out last night. Hopefully that will sort it, and let you know with photos if it doesnt. Thanks very much for your help. Andy
  7. Hi, I have just replaced the front fork seals and dust caps on my 1998 TX270. I now want to fill each fork with 300cc of 7W oil. On all the forums and the Jim Snell (Gas Gas) youtube they say just unscrew top bolt, lift up the spring to one side and pour in the oil. When I do this the drain screw comes out. What am I doing wrong? When I dismantled the fork the drain screw attaches to the front fork inner tube, so how do i unscrew the top bolt without the drain screw coming out. Sounds stupid but could I put the fork oil in via the drain. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks Andy
  8. Hi, I live in South Wales and bought a 1998 Gas Gas TX 270 to get me up the mountain to fly my paraglider. I am now having more fun riding the bike than flying my wing, would like to know if there are any trials clubs in south Wales. Thanks Andy
