Well, it looks as though we will be complaining to the French. The next advertised showing of the trials on the Eurosport listings is in a couple of weeks, where they will be showing the French round - I wonder if they manage to show their own hosted event!
-
Erm, you could always try not leaning it to the left
Its probably becuase when you lean it to the left, you are draining oil away from the clutch plates, as on the Sherco the clutch plates are on the right, and this is probably what is causing the whiring noise. Then, when you right the bike back to centre, the oil drains back, covering the plates, and the noise stops. Absolutely nothing to worry about, so long as you have got the recommended amount of oil in there in the first place.

Not sure about the Mont, but on my Sherco's (and Gasers) I have used the IPONE Synthesis 2 oil recommended by Sherco, and also the Elf Lub HTX 740, and I have found the Elf to be better. It's not cheap, but I figure it's cheaper than clutch parts, so it's worth the extra cash. It can be hard to get hold of, but I know bvm trialsport stock it.

put 97ron fuel in it if you can. When you are only filling up your plastic 1 gallon fuel container, the difference in price between 95 & 97 is negligable. Don't go for any supermarket stuff either, stick to BP Ultimate, or the dogs nadgers Shell Optimax.
-
Well if you set your video for it, you had better hope that you like snooker too, as the snooker has been on all afternoon, and the trials never materialised!
-
I have just checked my Sky+ listings for tomorrow, and it is on Eurosport 2 at 16:00 for an hour. I look forward to watching it when I get back from the DVLA office following either a successful or unsuccessful Sherco road registration!
-
Make sure you put some spacers on your mudgaurd to increase the gap between the front tyre and the mudguard, as the ground there is easily the worlds most sticky combination of mud and leaves you will ever find, and can stop your bike moving forward within about the first two minutes of the trial!

Essex Boy - get yourself membership to one of the Kent trials clubs, and come and join in the fun. All the trials in Essex are too flat and are always in gravel pits!
-
Anyone know where I can get hold of a pair of Dunlop Fork Stickers, black background, yellow writing? There used to be a guy on ebay that did them, but haven't been any on there for a while.
-
A piece of plastic pipe the right diameter is all you need. Chamfer one end so that it does not damage the seal when you placing it in position. Perfect!
-
I think everyone has difficulty getting the required help, not just in terms of observing but also all the hard work that goes in to helping lay out and remove sections.
In the North Kent Trials Combine, it is a rule that you must help out at your own hosted event and I think one other event in the year. Failure to do this excludes you from gaining championship points.
Personally, when her in doors and my job allows, I really enjoy helping the club setting out sections when ever I can. OK, I don't observe much, but I guess my time will come when my aching bones tell me that I should ride less and observe more. What I have noticed it is usually the same group of people that are there to help out week in week out, and clubs should try and do more (and it seems the only way left it through imposing conditions through removing points etc) to get people to do more to help. As is so often said, without the help of these people, none of us would be riding!

I have just got a used 05 290 Sherco, and the previous owner has put a set of Renthal bars on there that are too wide, and the bend itsn't right for me. Does anyone know what renthals most closely match the width and bend of the standard Sherco bars, as I had standard bars on my 04 290 and really liked them. Also, are the Renthals ones cheaper than the standard Sherco ones? If not, is there any reason to go for the Renthal ones over standard?
-
Cheers guys, useful as ever. I will check all of these options out.
-
Does anyone know where I can get hold of Carbon/carbon look fork protectors for an 05 Sherco 290, and if so, how much they are?
-
If you want your wheels done, I wouldn't stand for 8 weeks! Try www.thetrickwheelcompany.co.uk
their turnaround is 7-10 days. The guy said that the trials wheels are coming out really well, and that you won't be dissapointed. Aparently they supply anodised/powder cotaed rims/trick bits for "a major trials company".
-
The license numbers always stay the same. Well, at least mine has for the past three years!
-
Cheers Big John. The flange is at the same angle at both ends, and it doesn't sound like there are any gases escaping at all, so I am sure it is OK. Just wanted a bit of reassurance!
-
05 290 - Is the connection between the exhaust and the cylinder supposed to be completely flush? The allen screws don't go in all the way on my new (used) bike, leaving a gap of about 0.5-1cm betwen the end of the exhaust and the cylinder, so just wondering if this is by design or not.
-
Or you could just buy Silkolene Pro Cool, which comes pre mixed, so you can just pour it in!
-
Distilled water has got the calcium removed, so it stops the limescale/calcium deposits building up inside the rad and its associated pipes. This prevents the pipes becoming furred up/blocked and working less efficiently.

I ride in the South Eastern centre now, and really miss my days riding for the Western Centre, especially riding at Craswall. Running the Wye Valley Traders Trial again would be a fantastic idea. I seem to remember the reason that it stopped was that most clubmen found it too hard, and it did too much damage to their machines. Only the likes of Saunders, Braybrook etc used to have any luck, and in the end Trevor Hunt had no choice but to end it, as there were not enough riders. With the real popularity of trials at the moment, I reckon they could get it running again. I would definitely make the journey from Essex to Pontrilas just to watch it! Also I am not sure if it is the same step that you guys are talking about, but the show stopper was always the step at Tremorithic. The observers would stand at the top of the step with a very strong piece of rope with a big hook tied to one end. This hook got a lot of use! The observers would wrap it around a fork, and pull the bike up the step. It was very very big, espeically if it had a torrent of water running down it. I only ever saw Saunders clean all the subs at Tremorithic, and it was magic. BRING BACK THE WYE VALLEY TRADERS TRIAL!!!

Best thing I have found is to silicone an old windscreen wiper (or any bit of rubber) to the air box. This fills the gap nicely between the air box and the frame, and as it is stuck to the air box, you don't have to keep checking it is still in place. Plus as it is only stuck to the air box with silicone, if you want to take it off, you can do, without doing any damage to the rubber or the airbox.
-
Yeah , that's for a 'standard' RS6. When you have Oettinger breathe over it, she'll be turning out over 720Nm. Believe me, I know...
-
That's OK. The RS6 has got 720nm of it!
-
That's not a car. This is a car.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oi, get yerself over to bbs.scoobynet.co.uk
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Nah. This is a car.....all 547bhp of it!
