Allo, Allo, c'est Reuben.
I'm not actually French, but anyways....
-Have been thrust into trials.
I knew it would happen someday...
just didn't expect it last Wednesday.
Not that there's anything wrong with this.
No, not at all...
Got a call from a nephew of Uncle Dave, who passed
away in '84, whom I ran into at one of the Vintage TT
weekends here in Nova Scotia about eight years ago.....
won't bore you avec the details, but uncle Dave introduced me to 'Real
Motorcycles'....I was scrummaging around on my paperroute bought
CT200 when he happened along and offered me a ride....I was 11.
I had recently learned the theory of the clutch, but had yet to put it into
practice....Dad said I could take it for a ride if i was careful, and off I went,
in a bit of a lurch....turning a page from adolescent to...to...Rush junkie....
NO, NOT THE BAND, eh !!
-but, rest assured, that day I
comfortably tucked "the clutch thing" under my belt,
and was intrigued with the phenomenon of excess power.
But the rum and I digress...picked up a '74 TY250 two days ago that
I was not allowed to pay for. I love reminders now and then concerning
character and class. I tried valiently, but not a penny could I force.
I eventually settled on pushing a restaurant gift certificate upon he and his wife.
Mathew Semple, nephew of Dave Semple, passed to me Uncle Dave's TY, my first
two-stroke orgasm, and I can safely say that I have never looked back.
Thanks.
Reuben.
