  1. What are you saying, that the magazines are wrong? Or I’m making it up? Maybe Dr. Who owns a sprite an fancy’s a bit of pre65? I’m more than happy to lend show you the magazine as long as I get it back, if my scan is not acceptable proof Trust me I was only trying to help with the previous question about sprites, I have no vested interest whatsoever Also I have some pictures of Pre65 bikes (from a 1965 Magazine) without fork gaitors..
  2. One thing I have found, a lot of modern books written about classic bikes are inaccurate when it comes to dating bikes! Probably due to the passage of time, and fond memories?
  3. To be fair, it would be some miss-print to advertise a bike before it was even built? Just in case you need more proof, heres 2nd September 1965 addition this one has two listed! If anyone wants other information about bikes or riders I have 100s of old magazines from the 50s & 60s (and a few late 40s)
  4. Original MotorCycle magazines are wonderful to read, and very useful for information A DOT works replica £69 ... I'll send my £3 off today
  5. It would be nice if they put some info on the website about it, It doesn
  6. Have a look at this old comerfords ad from June 1965 They have a 1964 Sprite 250cc for sale (cheap too)
  7. Why shouldnt he have a vice, after all he is JC ? Look what his dad made (in 7 days)
  8. clad naughty nurse...
  9. Yes, I’m new to trials, but not Pre65 racing! I’ve been riding Pre65 bikes for 25 years and know quite a few people involved with pre65 trials (and organising bodies) they all say the same. “The sport needs new blood and people cannot get there head around all the trickery involved” Me personally I’m not too bothered, I’m only doing it for a bit of fun The only thing that makes me sad is Pre65 was fun it was a bunch of guys having a good time on old British bikes hardly any rules or problems You’ve asked OTF his club, what’s your’s?
  10. I'll put some gaiters on my gasgas, and a BSA sticker on the tank then .. Job done! I'm gonna wait for OTFs Brit-shock before I'll ride my bantam! But each to his own, just keep riding
  11. You seem a very angry person???? I don’t arrange trials, I just pay to enter and have fun (and even help out) I've also got a trick bike a GasGas In fact I’m fairly new to trials, from what I’ve seen of the pre65 I’m going to keep well clear I’ll stick with the twinshock & modern, Pre 65 doesn’t seem very inviting!
  12. OTF, I think you are banging your head against a wall, it's only the people without deep pockets know what mean. The problem is the people with trick bikes dont think it counts if its there trick bike, they will always have some justification that suits the modification Also you may have hit the nail on the head with vested interests
  13. No, I don’t want a special (can’t afford one), if you fit a 21” wheel you need heavy weight forks std bantams are to short (Old standard BSA heavy weight are not trick, try a set!) Same with the swing arm if you want a trials tyre The above mods would not make me competitive, they are the very basic mods just to turn it into a trials bike
  14. Its not quite that simple What about, 21” rim front, WM2 rim rear so the tyre will fit! (Bantam has WM1) folding kick start folding foot pegs heavy weight forks for 21” rim Swing arm (bantam to narrow) Exhaust plus does that bike run???? List goes on, trust me I’m building one! (With OTF's Brit-class I could use Spanish forks, wheels & yokes at a fraction of the price compared to old BSA items) plus the point is it would have to compete with fiddle bikes
