I have always set the level with the cap removed and damper rod and stanchion fully compressed.

    evo oil mix

75 ml is 66:1 if mixed with 5 litres of fuel, this is the same as 1.5%, make sure it is fully synthetic oil. This is the specification in the manual. 4% mixture is listed for mineral oil.
  3. The washer goes on the outside of the rim over the valve and under the locknut. The raised part uppermost so it sits nicely on the rim. Fitted one of these recvently and they are very good, just put a light smearing of grease in the grove where it fits and the tape will go in quite easily and the grease seals the spokes and prevents air leakage.

    Beta Rev 80

Replace the clutch with the competition clutch available from lampkins, it will sort out the screeching, we have done this to all our rev 80's straight from new.As i remember kit consists of clutch inner and metal plates only, you use the existing fibre plates.
  5. Follow this link to an article on Bou's bike and it explains what the diffrent settings are for. http://www.motocrossdigital.com/
  6. Motocross digital has an article comparing bou's montesa and raga's pro, the photo's are top quality, click on the link below and download the January issue. http://www.motocrossdigital.com
  7. Heard of a similar problem and the cause was water in the fuel tank. I would clean out the tank and try it before fitting a new pump. Also make sure the air filter is not heavily oiled as they pull the oil through and this causes poor running.

    50 Rear Wheel Spokes

I am sure the rims on the Sherco 50 are push bike trials rims so would assume thet are push bike spokes.Try a cycle store they may be able to help.
  9. The 2007 and 2008 models were tuned to be smoother than the previous models but still have plenty of power it is just delivered more smoothly. 2006 models were quick off the mark and in my opinion grip was hard to find. I have no experience of pre 2006 models so can not comment on these.
  10. Take out valve and rim tape, clean rim tape in soapy water, thoroughly clean the rim, apply grease over the spoke ends and a very small ammount(too much and the tape will not seat correctly) to rim where tape sits. Reassemble, the tape will locate in the grooves easily and as long as the rim tape was in good condition it will not leak.
  11. Electrics, these bikes are known for having problems with the stator. the symptoms you describe are what happened to my daughters.Give Gas Gas UK a ring and they should be able to supply a re-worked stator or they may put you in contact with someone who can sort it.Ours went off to spain I beleive to be sorted and it has ran perfectly since.

    Ty80 Oil Level

I am sure the capacity is stamped/cast into the engine housing somewhere near the kickstart as I remember. 550ml seems to ring a bell.Gear boxes rarely have dip sticks just put the correct ammount in.

    04 315 Advice?

Well built bikes so just check the usual points as any used bike. Front and rear wheel bearings, Head stock bearings, Swinging arm for excessive play, the bearings, bushes and seals are an exspensive item if they need replacing. The clutches do tend to drag a bit but should be ok when warmed up. Engine and gearbox check for excessive noise and smooth gear selection.

    Mixture For 280

75ml to 5 ltrs is about right, this is 66:1. I recommend castrol TTS it is very high quality oil and if you can't get from your local bike shop halfords stock it. It is around
  18. Bearing and seals are readily available from any bearing supplier.you will need 2 seals. If you go on the RYP USA website there is a download of how to do the job step by step.Sometimes the seals fail due to a worn impelor shaft so check this whilst you have it in bits.

    Water In Gear Box

The advise about putting in petrol was from a very reliable source,I did it twice once when drowned and the other time the water pump seal had gone. The bike in question has obviously got the water in through the breathers when it was submerged in the beck.if you have any doubts just keep flushing with oil,but the advise was given in good faith to me.

    Water In Gear Box

Drain the gearbox oil, then re-fill with petrol (2 stroke mix)the same ammount as you would put in if it was oil, start bike and run for a couple of minutes, drain and put in the cottect ammount of oil.I have done this a couple of times on my bikes, the advise was given by a proffesional bike mechanic.
  21. Did you fall off in the trial because if the bike was say, upside down the air at the top of the resevoir can sometimes get in the hoses, and even though you bled it the air can take a lot of persuasion to work its way out and wil not show straight away at the bleed nipple. This happened to mine once when I had the airbox off and had moved the resevoir to make things easier and it was hanging upside down. The problem was not apparent until I took it out the following weekend.I would search the forums for advice on bleeding the rear brake as it can be a pain in the neck sometimes.
  22. The best method of sealing rim bands is to grease the rim very lightly before putting the band on,this seals the spokes and makes seating the band very easy.As for tyre beaders a cheap alternative to the commercially available type beader is a length of about 15mm dia. foam this is used for filling the gaps round windows etc. before sealing with silicone or mastic on construction works, you don't even have to join it just push it in the gap between tyre and rim and as long as its well lubed with soapy water just pops out when the bead seals. If you are looking to buy some of this foam try a construction supplier who specialises in sealants etc.
  23. Put some grease in the groove where the rim tape sits, making sure it is completely covering the spoke nipples. The rim should be really clean,I use WD40 to do this.Only use as much grease to give a thin coating or you will have "bubbles" of grease stopping the tape seat properly. It is real easy as the grease lets the tape just slide in the groove, and if you get it wrong its easy to clean up and start again. This method has been 100% effective for me.

    Rev 3 Help Please!

The rev 3 takes 550ml,but this is when gearbox is fully drained ie. after a rebuild.I put about 520 ml in mine at oil changes and always use PJ1 CLUTCH LIGHTENER 75 wt.By the way if the engine was cold it still would not keep 200ml in gearbox.take out drain bolt and leave overnight, and remember to also take out filling cap bolt while draining.put new oil in next day and run bike checking all casing bolts are tight.sometimes these work loose the bottom one on the left near the bashplate is sommetimes the one that works loose i think you can't see it on the early models and have to loosen bashplate to move the rubber to gain access.
